Poppy Lux - Leopard Heads and Polka Dots.

Last week I was sent a surprise package from new British label Poppy Lux and I couldn't be more excited to share with you! The dress they chose for me is perfect for my personal style:

Poppy Lux
Ruby Dress: Leopard.
I love the fit of the dress its basically like a skater dress but with the unusual cut-out neckline so you can dress it up for a night-out or down for day-time fun.
I also love the cut out on the back too.
The print is so cute! I couldn't think of a better pattern to suit me.

What do you think of Poppy Lux? I definitely think they will be huge this year - you can check out their new arrivals HERE.

Nike Free 5.0+ Running Shoes and A New Tattoo.

I was recently contacted by SportShoes.com asking me if I think fitness should also be fashionable. Personally I don't feel you have to look good or have the latest sports gear to be fit - if your getting fit then thats all that should matter. It was sparked in response to the UK newspaper The Daily Mail's Jan Moir criticising Katherine Jenkins claiming she cared more about looking good than running for a cause - which is obviously bull!

Anyway I recently started a part-time job at a local Coffee shop - its alot of running to and from behind the counter so these awesome Nike Free 5.0+ running shoes are PERFECT to wear at work! They are so light and bouncy my feet don't ache at all after my shift!

As the title suggests I got a new tattoo also 2 weeks ago. It was a spur of the moment thing as I was up there with a friend, I actually was going to et a moon but everybody has them so I left with this awesome Cactus. I've recently been growing some Cacti and they are so cute!

Cutie Cactus on the back of my leg.
Hope you are having a great bank holiday weekend! The weather has been beautiful :)

Style Inspiration - Lana Del Rey.

Lana Del Rey is one of my fashion icons - I love her! She is so simple yet amazing, her personality shines through her style and if you listen to her music too (which I adore) you can totally pick up on this. New music doesn't really appeal to me much these days but Lana's amazing lyrics (which she wrote every word herself) speak volumes to me and her haunting voice makes me feel so dreamy.

Here are my Lana Del Rey inspired fashions:

COCO Shorts - Ukulele
WILDFOX Sequin Skull Blouse - Via SpoiledBrat.co.uk

If anyone knows where I can get this shirt... holla.
Whole Lotta Rosie Ice Cream Headband - Crown & Glory
WILDFOX Rose Gold Curved Ring - via AdHoc London
Heart Shaped Sunglasses - ASOS

Do you like Lana Del Rey and her style?
What ladies inspire you?

Tomorrow I am shooting with the awesome Julian Castaldi (who has shot pictures with Liam Gallagher and Iggy Pop) and his gorgeous wife Ellie (who has done make-up for Sophie Dahl), the shoot will be all about American flags, skateboards and old American bikes - I'm super excited!

Ying Yangs and Rainbows - outfit post.

Neon Splatter Open-Back Jumper - H&M
Ying Yang Dress - H&M
Rainbow Ring - Vintage Fair
Rainbow Socks - Primark.

I love Ying Yangs and I love Rainbows so this outfit I just felt awesome prancing about in!

The dress is a bit "boob-y" so I thought I'd team it with this cute open-back jumper so it keeps the main *ahem* area covered up ;)

It's finally Friday (this week has gone SO slow!) and I can't wait to enjoy my weekend.
Hope you too have a great one too!

Floral Hairband Pretties With Betty & Rose.

I am in love with the whole new floral headband trend so OBVS jumped at the chance to have a try for myself at pulling it off with Betty & Rose

I was sent a super cute - well presented package from Betty & Rose. I think the detailing in the packaging really make all the difference with handmade items from independent companies.
I was sent this pretty hemp bracelet - I love the lilac beads on the ties.
Mini Rose Headband
How well do these colours go with my new hair?!
I love the floral headband so much I think I definitely want to try out some bigger flowers too ;)

What do you think of floral headbands?

Disco Heart Nails.

At the beginning of the month I was up in Manchester for a family wedding (you can see what I wore HERE) -  I thought I would get into the love spirit and crack out some cute nails for the occasion:

Here are the polishes I used:

GOSH - Wild Lilac
Miners - Laguna Love
OPI Justin Beiber (oh yeaah!) - Step 2 The Beat Of My Heart

The colours matched my dress perfectly! I know Beiber gets alot of stick but how could I resist cute hearts that change colour in the light?!

DIY Daria Badge Collar Clips - A guest post.

This is the first time I've ever had a guest poster on my blog before and what better way to start with a lady who I have followed since I first started blogging way back when in 2010!

I LOVE DIY and crafts but I am pretty useless at making stuff - the ideas are there but once I start do-ing - it all goes to pot!

Here is the lovely Sammy from The Cookie Button and her rad Daria collar tips:

Hi, I’m Sammy and welcome to my guest post on the lovely cowbiscuits blog :)

I am a 20 something fashion and textiles student living on what feels like the biggest hill in Wiltshire. I constantly live in a creative bubble and find myself getting excited over the simple pleasures in life. As of March 2013, I am a fashion writer for IDOL Magazine discussing lots of lovely designers and promoting fabulous events. Despite getting caught up in my hectic lifestyle, I constantly remember my roots of being brought in a sleepy seaside town in Somerset running a B&b with my mum, her partner and their fluffy little friends - the hens.

My blog is a collection of all my crafty creations and things which put a smile on my face. It also varies from parts of my life that make me super happy as well as artist inspiration that needs to be shown to the world. I am starting to find what is really me in the way of my crafts and I am slowly developing this into my blog and shop.I very much enjoy finding little gems in charity shops and car boot sales which tend to inspire me for my creations. My friends and family play a big part in my creations too and help me in every way they can to make the best I possibly can of myself.

Now lets get creative and make one of my all time favourite crafts - collar clips!

               YOU WILL NEED
  • Black chain
  • Badges
  • Silver spikes
  • Small and large jump rings
  • Craft cutting tool
  • Craft pliers
STEP 1
Using the cutting tool, cut a length of chain roughly 18 x 4cm (8 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches) in length.
STEP 2
Attach four small jump rings to the chain using a pair of craft pliers. Make sure these are evenly spaced apart.
STEP 3
Once the small jump rings are in place, attach the spikes using the craft pliers.
STEP 4
Add the large jump rings to either end of the chain.
Finish off by attaching the badges to either end of the jump rings. Then TADA! You can now wear your DIY collar clips with pride and really stand out from the crowd!

Sammy also has her own Etsy store where she sells her cute collar clips and other crafts : CookieButton

These glittery heart tips are from Sammy's Etsy store - I am in LOVE!

There you have it - how to make your own badge collar clips! So awesome - Thankyou Sammy!!

P.S - I am on the look-out for other crafty-guest posters so if you have any awesome ideas you'd like to share then email me: cowbiscuitsblog@gmail.com

All Dressed Up For A Wedding - outfit post.

As I said in my previous post, this bank holiday weekend I headed up to Manchester for my cousins wedding.

It took me forever to find my dress - it had to be wedding-y but it had to be me!

Here is what I wore:

Embellished Summer Skater Dress - ASOS
Nude Heels - Primark
This bad boy set me back £85 (not easy for an unemployed lass!). It is the perfect fit for me in a size 8.
There is a silky slip underneath two lots of puffy-prom Tulle (it didn't itch one bit) with that super cute floral design, in sewn-on sequins and pearls, running up the sides.

Close up of the detail. I love the neon and pastel mix.
The beaded neckline. This was also on the sleeve-line too - such cute detail really made it worth the price!
I teamed it with this dainty little rose-gold and pearl skull bracelet
And wore this cutie Limited-Edition ASOS crystal hair-brooch.

My hotel was AMAZING - you can check it out on this website (The Mere Golf Resort & Spa). We had the most amazing breakfast every morning and also the wedding reception was held here - the food was incredible!

The wedding itself was gorgeous, the decoration was so beautiful and of course the Bride looked fabulous! I won't post any pictures on here as I want to keep my family's special day private however you have to trust me - best dress ever!

2 sinks! Heaven!
I spent yesterday in the park with my friends, sipping wine and being silly. I've had the best weekend!

How did you spend your bank holiday?
