D.I.Y Pressed Flower Sunglasses + Exciting News!

I'm going to sound like a total Granny but one of my fave things to do is press flowers! I have a scrap book with loads of different pressed beauties in that I'll probably share it with you soon.

There are loads of different crafts you can do with pressed flowers but I thought I'd spice it up from your usual photo-frames and trinket boxes and add some pretty, pink, pressed flowers to an old pair of sunglasses:

What You Need:
Sunnies (obvs!) - These are from ASOS about 3 years ago.
Clear drying craft glue
Masking tape (I used Washi Tape) to cover the frames
Small brush...
...And some tiny pressed flowers.
I pressed these for about 2 weeks they were so small they dried super fast, I did it in a actualy flower press as they were small but normally I would use the heavy book and kitchen roll method.
First up add a thin layer of glue to the corners where you wanna put the flowers.
Then I used the tip of my finger to just gently drop the flowers on.
I then added some more, plus a tiny leaf that was part of the bunch, to the sides.
The wait for the first layer of glue to dry and add two more layers to keep the flowers safe and push down and sticking-up bits.
The repeat on the other side!
The finished product!
What do you think?

In other great news I FINALLY get to announce that I am the now blogger in residence for beauty and lifestyle for St.Davids Center Cardiff - you can see more updates about this if you follow their twitter - @StDavidsCardiff. I'm super excited to be working with such a great team and writing about exciting things in my City!

Hope your week is going swimmingly.

  15. This is such a clever idea! I tried pressing flowers when I was younger but I wasn't very patient. Plus I tried to press a whole red rose (from my first boyfriend, naturally) and it it made the photo album I'd tried to press it in go mouldy. Not cool.
