Topshop Make-Up Lip Marker Review.

Due to a heavy Hallowe'en weekend I gave myself the weekend away from blogging to rest from the madness, I had tonnes of fun and will be doing a post in the week when pics are uploaded (I didn't take my cam and my friend forgot hers).

Today I was in Topshop buying my Christmas present from my mum - IT'S THIS. Awesome.

I saw some new products in the make-up range, they've actually been around for a month or so now but one item that caught my eye was the Lip Marker (I'm pretty sure it's part of the new Heavy Duty range anyway) - there was no tester but I felt brave so just bought it:

Lip Marker in 'Berry' - £7.50
When I opened it, I was like WOW because it looks like a felt tip!
I had heard this was a 'lip stain' so wanted to give it a go after reading THIS article.

You can wear the lip marker alone or add it to a layer of lipstick to add drama and give it a lasting effect.
Here I wore it alone:

As you can see it is a really bold red, however achieving full coverage was quite hard (mainly on the top lip).
I think I would re-try this marker with a lipstick underneath or over because straight after these pics I ate Pomegranate (like an animal with my hands might I add) and the marker had gone! I do love the 'stained' look, the only thing with this marker is I'd be worried about how long the pen will last as there is no way of telling and you have to apply alot for full coverage.
Oh and it smells and tastes like berries which is great!

Hope you all had a great Hallowe'en, what did you go as?

  1. It is lovely and the colour looks great on you! I've been in two minds about buying this though as I worry it won't be worth the price and won't measure up to cheaper lip stains? x

  5. That lip stain looks amazing, I've only tried the Covergirl ones and had the same problem with it coming off.. I get so angry because I expect it to stay for ages, as in to actually stain my lips. That jacket is also really cool, what a good Mama for buying it for you! xx

  6. the liner looks amazing but i don't know if i want to invest if it doesn't have staying power :/

  8. Been tempted by this so glad you posted a review! Sad that it doesn't last as it looks really good on, I like that it looks quite dry, more like a stain than a lipstick.

  9. you suit red lips so much! literally saw that pic and went wow! :) I would have far too much fun with this because its got a felt tip-ish applicator. I tested it on my hand it topshop a week or so ago and it wouldnt come off for ages! but with our lips constantly moving, eating, etc its a shame if it doesnt last so long :( Cause it really does look awesome on you missus! loving the fur coat btw, looks soooo cosy! thanks mum :p xx

  12. Great colour! I think I've been tempted to invest. Had an awful catastrophe with a leaky Mabelline 18 Hour gloss recently, so a nice safe pen nib definitely appeals!

Love your style btw so added you to my Bloglovin'

  32. I need to snap up one of those! I've only recently been getting into lipstick as I've always hated that it disappears after only an hour or so. But this looks like it'll never come off - great!

  37. It reminds me of when I was a kid and would colour in my lips with red felt tips! Hopefully my mother won't go ballistic if I try on of these though. Shame about the lack or staying power, for a stain you'd think that there would be more.

  38. I want to buy this. Like right now.

And I concur, you have a perfect mouth.

  39. Don't buy it. It's amazing, but it dries out after a few weeks. I can't get any colour out of mine now, pity, I really loved it at first.

  40. Oh that lip marker is absolutely stunning!
It's bright and sharp, really suits you!
