Paul Mitchell Fabulous in Five event.

Hello!

I'm back from Devon after a lovely time, I've got some exciting posts coming up from my mini-holiday which I can't wait to share!

Today I want to tell you about the amazing Paul Mitchell hair event I went to last Weds. I was back to the St. Davids hotel in a suite with about 6 other blogger ladies (which by the way was SO great having such a small group, I got to speak to everyone individually and we all got to sit around with the Paul Mitchell gang for gossips and beauty chats). Greeted with champagne and canapes, we talked about some great Paul Mitchell Summer products and how to look fabulous in 5.

In the bedroom were the 2 fabulous hair stylists from a Welsh salon who gave my beach babin' curls and taught me how to use some of the products.

oh hii i've got curls.

The team used the NeuroUnclipped 1.25" on my hair.

These tools were amazzzing! I didn't quite get all the names but I know these tools are made usng IsoThern Titanium which gives you even heat, does minimal damage to hair and also has a micro-chip that regulates the head 50times a second! Crazy! I can't wait to play with my own ;)

I forgot to take pictures of the amazing care package we were given so here is a picture of my new house plant: but it was basically all the products we got to play about with and more in a cool tote! I stupidly left half of mine in Devon so will have to wait a while to see them again!

P.S - Did you know Paul Mitchell do a pet care range?! Need to try that on Prince.

I loved learning all about Paul Mitchell and how they are BUAV approved and put money into stopping the animal testing in China - AWESOME!

Hope you are having a great week? I've been to Drag Bingo this week, it was grand!

La Bella - Interview With Sam Faiers and Her New Fragrance Launch.

Hello!

Yesterday I got to interview the gorgeous Sam Faiers ahead of her coming to Cardiff THIS Saturday (26th) to do a signing and launch of her new fragrance La Bella. For anyone who wants to pop along it will be at 2pm in The Fragrance Shop which is on the ground floor of the St.Davids Center.

Congratulations on your debut fragrance! Ahead of you coming to Cardiff this Saturday I have some questions as I know us Cardiff girls will LOVE meeting you and trying out your new fragrance!

Where did the beautiful name La Bella come from?
I wanted my debut fragrance to represent me, so I chose La Bella which means 'the beautiful' in Spanish and Italian. Growing up I lived in Spain, and my grandparents still live out there – it's like a second home,

What is the inspiration for you behind La Bella?
I wanted to build a fragrance that was elegant and pretty, I wanted it to mean something to me. I didn't want to put my name to just anything, I was involved with everything in the fragrance from the bottle to the scent.

Tell me a little more about the fragrance notes...
It's quite sweet, but it's not sickly sweet. It has my favourite scents, vanilla, iris flower and benzion at the heart with a bed of glamorous musk laced with a luscious caramel in the base notes.

What kind of woman wears La Bella?
My following is quite young but I wanted to fragrance to be across all ages. It me it represents sophistication and can be worn everyday as well as being classy and elegant.

What is your all time favourite fragrance and does it bring back any great memories?
I think La Bella is my favourite fragrance, but it's inspired by Chanel and Jo Malone.

Do you wear the same fragrance everyday or do you like to mix it up or change with the seasons?
I do like to mix it up with fragrances for day and the evening, I think you have to or else you're always going to be used to the same scent!

What is your top beauty tip for this Summer?
I can give you more than one! I've not got a treatment in particular I like to get; I'm not really one that always gets treatments. I do always make sure I've got my nails done and have a facial before I go, but really I just make sure I have all my beauty necessities. I'll take my BB cream instead of foundation, I make sure I have my Bobbi Brown shimmer brick and a nice coral lipstick for holiday. I always use an SPF factor on my body, but usually an oil as I'm lucky and have quite dark skin anyway, but I always make sure to still use a factor - I'm always worried about getting wrinkles and looking old!

If La Bella was a song would it be - Pharrell's 'Happy' or Pharrell's 'Get Lucky'?
Obviously 'Happy' as I'm in such a good place right now and looking forward to seeing you all at The Fragrance Shop, in St Davids Dewi Saint at 2pm tomorrow

There we have it! I will have to swing by and have a smell of this when I get back into Cardiff, I used to work in a perfume shop and still have a huge love for all things fragrance.

Hope your weekend is going swimmingly, I'm off to do my first spinning class now - wish me luck!

Vanity Rooms and Spa Cardiff

On Monday I was invited along to the Vanity Rooms & Spa in Rhiwbina village in Cardiff.
I had heard of it before but as I live so close to town the last time I had ventured up that way was a loong time ago so hadn't actually been up to see it yet. It's the 3rd Aveda salon in Cardiff and the 2nd Aveda spa here too!

Gorgeous flowers were provided by Flower Lodge.
As soon as I got there I was offered a drink and then was whisked off to the spa treatment room for an Aveda Facial. The room smelt all spa-like and amazing and was candle-lit which set me off to relax right away.

As its so hot at the moment my skins been pretty oily so the wonderful Charlotte applied the Aveda tourmaline charged radiance masque on me and left me to relax for 5 minutes. I was also treated to a couple Aveda rituals such a hand massage and an awaking after the facial was over.

My skin felt so refreshed and amazing afterwards but I did look a bit look like I had just woke up so I was given a mini-makeover using the Aveda make-up range. The tinted moisturizer was amazing and I was given a little glow with the blush.

After my facial I was treated to Gelish nails which was great as mine from the Superdrug Event had just came off! I chose black:

I felt so welcomed and at home in Vanity Rooms and I am desperate to go and get my hair done there (I have some money off vouchers too for my first visit!) I was offered a blow-dry at the event but I was headed to the gym after so there was little-to-no point! I saw some other girls getting their hair done though and it looked amazing (something I'm yet to find in Cardiff - a good hairdresser!).

If you are local I highly recommend popping down and you can check out their twitter for the latest deals and treatments available.

I'm off down to Devon as of tomorrow for a week relaxing! But will have a little post up with a special interview this week ;)

What Will Be, Will Be.

Oh Hey!

I've just back from some pampering (but more on that tomorrow ;p) after a stressful day! My weekend was so fun, I went out Friday, then went for a nice meal with some pals on Sat and on Sunday went to the beach with some more friends - it was nice and relaxed, I even took a dip in the sea which was surprisingly warm.

Anyway recently I was sent a little treat from the babes over at Skinniebelle and it's right up my crystal-healing street:

Opalite Choker - c/o Skinniebelle.
I think it's a double-wrap choker (as seen on the website) however I prefer to wear it as a longer pendant :)

Opalite is great during meditation (usually placed on the crown chakra) and is great for positive feelings and soothing anxiety and nervousness, bringing inner peace.

It also came with this little card which sums up Opalite beautifully. I've stuck this onto my pinboard in my bedroom above my desk and keep it as a little, sweet life reminder :)

Hope your weekend was fun!

My Gym Essentials.

I've loved my past month at the gym, each day I go I feel like I can do much more than the last time and go a bit further and push myself. The feeling after is really great and also it gives me an energy boost followed by a good nights sleep!

I thought I'd share with you my essentials, I know I'm missing things like - hand towel and the clothes but they are a given!

Here they are:

Dead Sea Spa Magik - Moisturiser and Body Lotion - c/o Oganicopia.
I love these gentle products I use them after I've been in the pool and showered to keep my skin soft and smooth after the chlorine.
The rich moisturiser is UV protective and is very light and non-greasy which is great for after the pool.
The lotion calms and soothes and a little goes such a long way! Both of these products are made using organic ingredients and are both Vegan :)

P.s - get 10% off Organicopia using my code: organ1c10%
uk healthy lifestyle blogger
Bounce Protein Ball - Holland & Barratt
These little things are meant to give you lots of energy! I eat one before the gym and they come in a huge range of delicious flavours. They taste like peanut butter - yum!
I want to try the cacao and mint one next.

What are your gym essentials?

New Cid Lip and Cheek Tint - Cosmo Freebie Review.

Happy Monday!

I always usually hate Mondays but today I've had a positive one and have been really motivated today so I'm going to run with it and hope it continues for the rest of the week!

On a break at work I wanted to read a magazine (but as usual got distracted by the free gifts) so ended up with Cosmopolitan. The cover was Nicole Sherzwanger, or whatever, who dries me out to no end so I didn't really read the magazine.

ANYWAY the free gift was a lip and cheek tint by a brand called 'new cid cosmetics' (or there was a mascara but I have about 200 already) and I chose the colour Strawberry Souffle - the items are all worth £15 each, bargain!

uk beauty blogger review

The smell is so sweet I love it! The colour isn't as bright as I had thought but it is a nice colour red, not really orangey which makes me glad as orange tones don't suit me at all. It's a crayon style and rubs on easily and actually lasts very well for a tint!

new cid review

As you can see in the pic I've applied it on my lips and cheeks, I usually wear highlighters or darker shades of blush so I think I will probably just use it as a lip crayon. I've not been wearing make-up to work for the past month of so now which is soo good for my skin although last week I had a little break-out which I think was just down to either stress or steam room/sauna combo which makes my claim of 'stress' sound dubious.

Have you ever heard of new cid or tryed any of their products? Which magazine freebies have you been after this month?

Daisy Crop

Hello!

So as of Monday my internet went down until yesterday which was super annoying as our Sky tv doesn't work either due to us living in a basement :'( So I've been struggling haha. But now I'm back - yaaay!

Today I have a little drop to show you, although I am STILL in the midst of a super bad body conscious issue where I just want to wear baggy t-shirts and hide all my chub I decided to give this a little go:

Bandeau bra - Primark (£3!)

I love the detail and the scalloped edges along the arms, bottom and neckline.
It's a pretty see-through top but with the bra underneath it looks good! I don't think I'm confident enough yet to wear it outside in public but I teamed it with some hi-waisted jeans to cover up a little.

What do you think?

I'm loving all this sunshine we are having in Cardiff this week and can't wait to go back out into it!

Have a great weekend and I'll be back Monday (promise).

Superdrug Beauty Studio Cardiff

Hello and Happy Friday!

I'm a tad hungover today as last night was the UK launch of Superdrugs new store - Beauty Studio!
Cardiff was luck enough to be the first and only store in the UK to have the beauty studio which has exclusive brands and products.

The whole store was so shiny, new and neon and just amazing! I can't say enough how much of a great store it is and how Superdrug has basically knocked the competition out of the park.

As well as (lots) of bubbly there was also their services on offer for us, so basically you can go and get ALL of this stuff done at the store!

There was gel manicures, eyebrow threading, Eyelure eyelash bar, ear piercing, curling and hair straightening stations and also the best of all - A FULL ON SALON! You can get your hair cut and blow dried inside the store!

Eyelure eyelashes!

There were stands from Superdrugs' own brand GOSH and B. (which is vegan) but also some new brands such as I Heart Make-up, The Balm and Make-up Revolution (who I am desperate to try out more things from!). I spent quite a bit of money but was however kindly gifted a £25 giftcard to help me pay towards it!

After the event I hopped in a taxi with a handful of Superdrugs head crew from London and some journalists and we went over to the St.Davids Hotel for an amazing meal, more bubbles and also some naughty shots. If you wanna see a Welsh Dragon shaped pie then head to my instagram HERE - it was delish!

After our meal I was whizzed back down to town for an after-party in Peppermint for a free bar, some dancing and no a very sore head!

Thankyou SO much to the amazing PR team and all the Superdrug family who made me feel so welcome and gave me such a blast of an evening!

The Beauty Studio is now open in Cardiff St. Davids Center and is well worth a long browse!

Supplements - My Routine.

During my health kick I've decided to try and boost my energy levels and use supplements to get the right goodness into me.
I chose Holland and Barrett as my shop of choice as they always have the biggest range and helpful staff who know what they are talking about to guide you. Plus they always have great deals on like right now it is buy one get on half price on everything!

Here are the supplements I bought and have been taking now for 3 weeks:

healthy living blog blogger
African Mango and Green Tea.
This is supposed to be great for weightloss and helping suppress appetites and cravings and also are antioxidants. However upon doing some more research it appears I've been taking these tablets at night instead of the morning when they are at their most beneficial. So my verdict on these is not out yet!
healthy living blog blogger
Skin Hair Nails.
I take 3 of these a day in combination with keeping a good skin care routine and trying to keep my hair healthy as possible.
My skin is in great shape at the moment and I've been complimented many times on how glowing and fresh faced I am looking (maybe another post on my routine?) so I think taking these definitely contributes to that.
healthy living blog blogger
Magnesium with Zinc.
These are great I feel so much more energized whereas normally after work I just want to nap on the sofa I actually feel motivation to beat fatigue. I also am interested in taking these for the muscle and bone function as going to the gym aches!

Do you take any supplements of have any wonder vitamins or tips I should look into?
Please share!

Hope you are having a great week
