California Waves - John Frieda trial.

Some of you may be familiar with John Frieda hair products they are hugely popular over here in the UK and throughout the world. Well they have launched a YouTube channel that gives you step-by-step tips on creating lots of different and simple styles.

I've sat here and watched all of these videos, each one I really want to try but I finally settled on California Waves to have a go at, here is the video and here is how I got on:

Products used:
Frizz-Ease Perfecting Creme
Sheer Blonde Shine Balm
Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver
Thickening Blow Dry Lotion
Sheer Blonde Hairspray.

After step 1 was over - my hair was HUUGE!!

All done!

Loved my waves.

I loved my waves so much, they were so simple to do, only took me about 20 minutes and I kept my hair like it all day and night.

All the pink and lilac I had in my hair before has faded out now but it's coming back tonight - yay!

Do any of you use John Frieda? What is your favourite product?

Crown and Glory.

I love handmade goods! There is nothing better than having totally unique items you know you can wear proudly and know you are probably not going to bump into the same girl wearing the same thing (isn't it awkward). I came across Crown and Glory when the lady behind it all, Sophie, added me on twitter and we got chatting, I immediately got excited as soon as I checked out the site - handmade hair pieces!

Sophie told me that Crown and Glory is made all by herself and is just a passion she has and loves to do in her spare time. This is also how I feel about my blog so here's to a dedicated Crown and Glory post!

Here are some of my favourite bits from the site:

And here is my piece:

Beautiful packaging - it also had sweets in yum!

Orlaith Comb - £6
I've never used a comb piece in my hair before, I adore it! It stays in for ages!

What do you think? What items do you like?

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and nobody has been blown away by this insane wind we are having in the UK!
Peace

EDIT: - if you type in 'COWBISCUITS' at the checkout you can get 15% off your order! This is until the end of December!

Ga-spiration

With inspiration drawn from Lady Gaga in the September issue of Vanity Fair, I decided to give the 'Old lady' grey/purple rinse a go!

As you can see the gorgeous Gaga has a full head of colour, however, last time I dyed my hair I got told by my manager to 'get rid' - so this time I made sure I didn't do the whole hair and only parts:

These pictures don't do it justice, my bangs look a more grey colour and the sides with a little more of a lilac tint. I love it! I wanna do my whole head but I'm giving it the boss test-run tomorrow.

I used "Virgin Snow" by Manic Panic (which is actually a toner) you can pick it up HERE at Hairbomb, who give very good customer service and fast delivery.

What colour have you dyed your hair before? What colour do you want to dye it?

Bunting + New hair!

I recently bought a new sewing machine ( a Jenome Mini), and also a whole load of fabric, what better way to enjoy this by making some good ol' bunting!

It was really simple to make, I just cut triangles out of a floral fabric measured and marked to 15cm across and cut to a triangle point at 7.5cm. The same again for the denim (which I sacrificed an old pair of shorts for!)

To finish off I just pinned the pompom trimming to the fabric and sewed along.

My mum displayed it in our kitchen (I felt like a 5 year old who had just come home from school with a drawing) - Please note the photo of Gordon Ramsey is NOT mine!

Recently my hair has been feeling a little lifeless due to bleaching and straightening, so I drew some 'Hairspiration' from my idols - Deborah Harry, Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga, called up my lovely hairdresser Sophie and went for a full fringe chop!

This is it, I will probably tie is back most of the time like this until my layers mix in.

Not quite so fabulous but I love it anyway!

Have a great Thursday!
