MAC Gel Eye-Liner - review.

My mum went away this weekend to London and as a treat (I assume for leaving me alone/looking after our animals) she asked me if there was anything from MAC (there are no counters around these parts) while she was up there. I've been after a gel eye-liner for ages so what took the opportunity to ask for the MAC gel eye-liner (and she also got me the brush too, I'm very lucky!):

MAC Fluidline Eye-liner Gel in Blacktrack.
MAC 210 Precise Eye-Liner Brush.

It goes on really smoothly and easily although I recommend using the correct brush (or a very thin brush) as you only need a little and that little bit goes a LONG way.

As you can see it comes out quite dark. In the pot you get 3 grams, I've only used it twice now and I know it will last me forever!

This is me at the end of the day today after wearing it to work, I haven't touched it up. It holds SO well and doesn't smudge. Not too sure if its waterproof yet but a new episode of Glee is on tomorrow so I'm sure I will find out watching that!

Not much else to say except it's amazing, definite value for money, goes on like a dream and stays on all day. So happy with this product after 2 days of owning it I don't think I will go back to liquid liner!

What is your favourite eyeliner?

It's thats time of year again...

...to get your party frocks out! Christmas work do's and festive family parties are all starting to happen...umm...now! I'm never prepared for the holiday season, I've only bought one present and refuse to put the decorations up until mid-December! I work all day 5 days a week now too so it's hard to even get a look in the shops!

I'm sure I will be taking part in some festivities though and here are some highstreet party dresses I have my eye on:

Motel Gem Dress - £39.00
I love this, it's sparkly and I can imagine would totally flatter your figure!

Zara Leopard Print Dress - £69.99
Huge price tag but I love the shape!
Vero Moda Chiffon Bow Top Pencil Dress -  £24
The teal colour is gorgeous and the little bow adds cute detail.

River Island Black Beaded Dress - £30
Love beaded details right now plus it has an elastic waist for lots of food and drink ;)

Topshop Chiffon Embellished Panel Skirt Dress -  £50
Love me a bodycon and love how this looks like a skirt/top combo. If only I was rich!

What dresses do you have your eye on? Are you doing anything fun over the next 4 weeks?
I have a Christmas Ball coming up next weekend so really need to chose something to wear!

Hope you've all had a great weekend!

Black and Gold - Outfit Post.

Some of you may remember a month ago I posted THIS outfit post - well I love it to death and recently discovered something new and similar to love to death:

Leopard Peter Pan Collar Tunic - Topshop £35

It's roughly the same as my previous tunic, slightly thicker, the arms aren't as baggy, this is just generally more well put together with a bigger (cuter) collar.

'S' Scrabble Ring - made by Victoria, you can request yours to her via her blog.
'Love' Double Ring - Accessorize.

GOGO PHILLIP Bracelet - Amazing chunky gold bracelet.
Check out the site for more vintage bijoux beauties!

Jus' poppin' mah collar.

If you follow me on twitter you will know I've been ill which is why I haven't posted much this week, so apologies for that!

This week was the release of new the Kanye West album and I haven't stopped listening to it. What can't you stop listening to?

These are a few of my favourite things...

I get tagged in these things and never ever do them because I forget and it doesn't fit in with my blog. But I thought seeing as I'm getting busier with work (Christmas and retail really are awful together!) I'd give you a bit of an insight into my interests and the superficial things I love!

So I was tagged by the beautiful Dottie to write a list of Ten of the things I love (this is definitely going to take me until Midnight!) I'm going to do it as things/people I love but there's so much I'm going to just combine them.
Here it goes:

1. City Life:
Not sure where this image is from, been my background forever. Let me know if it's yours.
I don't just mean NYC as much as I love it getting to live in America is like trying to do a rubix cube blind folded. I just crave city life! I live in a small(ish) costal town and crave fun everynight, there is nothing to do here and options are slim-to-none.

2. Celebrity Gossip:
(via.)
I know it's shallow, it's unfair, it gets my through my day! People in the limelight's dirty laundry being aired must give me some sort of escape from reality because I love it, it's like my niche, if I were to go on Mastermind it would be my key subject.

3.  These TV Shows:
Curb, RHOA, Desperate Housewives, RuPaul's Drag Race, The Walking Dead, Arrested Development, Boardwalk Empire, Jersey Shore, RHONJ.
Some of these are guilty pleasures but I adore them, I spend all week looking forward to new episodes (bar Arrested Development R.I.P) and Curb is coming back soon! Anyone else watch any of these?

Totally forgot to add Glee, thats probably my favourite show ever and I forget it - thanks Gem :P

4. These Men:
Johnny Knoxville, Justin Timberlake, Zac Efron, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Morrissey, Joe Jonas.
Zac Efron is top of my list, the others are just eye candy/men I admire or wanna party with (here's looking at you Kanye).

5.These Ladies:
Britney Spears, Deborah Harry, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, Nicki Minaj, Zooey Deschanel.
These ladies inspire me, the way I dress, the way I live life and my attitude. I get called 'Debbie' by one of my best friends, Deborah Harry is probably my idol. Gwen is probably my biggest style icon.

6. My pets:
Pippa, Sidney, Oliver.
I love my pets, I get so stressed dealing with people all day so my animals are a little release.

7. Drag Queens:
(via.)
My obsession started with Ru Paul, the worlds most famous drag queen (who turned 50 this week!) Fierce Bitch is FIERCE. Watching Ru's show 'Ru Paul's Drag Race' introduced some fresh faces of drag. To me I love it! It's not about being in the wrong body or anything, these men enjoy the show and the performance. The make-up and styling is some of the best around (see Tyra Sanchez) and if I was born a man I'd definitely be a drag queen! Eleganza Extravaganza!

8. Tea:
(via.)
I 100% support the statement that a cup of tea solves everything.

9. Filthy Glamour:
(1,2,3,4,5)
Glitter, studs, spikes, platforms, doing it for the fame, dancing until you ache, grubby clubs, bizarre people, fitting right in and doing it for the fame.

10. Friends:
In London, Halloween '08, At Reading Fest '09, Tattoos, Us on Saturday, On a Tuesday night filled with joy.
I only have a few close friends and they are golden. This is Max, she's just one who's been around for a long time, we are off to NY together and have matching tattoos. We laugh until we hurt and crave the same things from life.

So that's it a little insight to the girl behind the blog.

I pass this onto ALL OF YOU! I want all the people who comment me all the time to do one so i can get to know you better too!

Katy Perry 'Purr' - A Fragrance Review.

Now some of you know, but for those who don't, I'm a "qualified" (I have 2 certificates and it's my job title) Fragrance Advisor!
It's half fun but dealing with the general public daily makes my blood pressure soar, I don't understand how people don't have manners!
Anyway...

An exciting new launch came in this week - It was Katy Perry's debut fragrance 'Purr'!

I've been excited all week for it, checking every delivery we've had just waiting for the launch kit to come in, and yesterday - it did! Now, no photos are supposed to be taken at work (due to merchandising rules etc) but I sneak peaked this one in the stock room (so I won't be in trouble) on my Blackberry - sorry for the poor quality:

Yes the bottle is shaped like a cat! It has a silver collar with the words 'Purr' written on it, jewelled eyes and a really cute little kitty face on the box.

The top notes include Peach, Gardenia and Apple which definitely are picked up to begin with, however not in a sickly fruity/sweet way.
The middle notes are Jasmine, Bulgarian Rose and Freesia that warm down to the base notes of Creamy Sandalwood, Vanilla Orchid, and Musk.

To sum it up I'd say it's a subtle fruity/floral with a definite pick-up of Vanilla base. I love it, it's gorgeous for either a dayime or an evening fragrance, plus it's Eau de Parfum so should last upto 6-8 hours (depending on your skin type).

I love the advertising campaign too, Katy in a kitty outfit, looking fierce and playing with a giant ball of yarn - pure joy!

(via.)
Retail price for a 50ml EDP is £40 and it is exclusive to Selfridges until Saturday 20th November when it will hit the highstreet- so ladies get out there and get smelling!

Other celeb fragrances I highly recommend are: Jennifer Anniston, Beyonce Heat and Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers Wicked Style collection.

What's your favourite fragrance?

Rock N' Rose - Outfit Post

Seeing as payday isn't for another 10 days and I have loads of Christmas (bleugh) shopping to do I thought I'd be an idiot and buy myself a new jumper! Luckily, I love it enough to be reckless and justify my purchase and to be fair I am in real need of a pick me up.

It looks like a cheesy 80's hair metal sweater thats been ripped and worn to every gig going - so very me!
Couldn't resist a panther pose either.
I know it's far too cold for shorts but I was just mooching the house.

Cropped Panther Sweater - £30 Topshop Concessions Rock Rebels (how can I resist that name!)
White shirt - £1.99 H&M
'Bonnie' necklace - £13 Wallpaper Rose

In most of my outfit posts I have my hair up but been wearing it down recently. As you can see I am in DIRE need of doing my roots but I'm actually about to do it after I finish this!
You can't really see but i tried to 'galaxy' my nails they look swell!

I was gifted this beautiful handmade necklace by the lovely Louise from Wallpaper Rose. Of course an anchor was a dream for me (see my tattoo above).
You HAVE to check out some of the amazing shirts and other jewels she makes!
My lucky readers can also get 10% off (until 14th December) using the code 'COWBISCUITS' at the checkout - so get on it! Let me know what other things you like too :)

I have had formspring for a while now but I'm a bit dubious about putting it on here 'cus of all the hate going around at the moment (I'm fragile!) but HERE is the link for any Q's or anything you want to know about me :)

Forever 21 Online.

So it's here ladies the Forever 21 site is online and ready for us to get spending!

I have to say at first glance I'm actually kind of disappointed, I've heard it's a bit like H&M but with Primark price tags (Well old Primark they raised the bar a bit!) But I found this isn't the case. I checked out the US site ages ago and thought 'wow this place is cheap and filled with joy', but as some of you know I'm off to New York in Jan so I will be waiting to hit up the new Times Square store and get some bargains!

To be honest not alot appealed to me, maybe it's the way they are setup, perhaps the look better in store? I can't comment but there is a great post from the gorgeous Irene about the F21 new UK Birmingham store opening.

Anyway here are some of the items I did like from the new Forever 21 UK site:

Oversized Two Tone Top - £13.80
French Terry Top - £15.80
3/4 Geo Top - £15.80
Polka Dot Pullover - £15.80

oh by the way I'm a massive bore and these are all grey sweaters! Whatever a grey sweater will go with anything AND keep you warm!

'S'  Initial Necklace - £3.80
Croc Studded Clutch - £17.80
Deer Portrait Necklace - £4.80
Owl Portrait Necklace - £4.80

The jewellery is alot nicer and very reasonably priced. Unfortunately no shoes jumped out at me :(
Sorry the pics are small, my blog layout is the lamest thing ever and I am the least technical person ever and suck at all things internet. You can click on the pics to make them bigger.

Ok so going back through trying to find links to these items, I actually found alot more I like. Maybe I will have to do a pt 2 post.
What items do you like?

Crown and Glory.

I love handmade goods! There is nothing better than having totally unique items you know you can wear proudly and know you are probably not going to bump into the same girl wearing the same thing (isn't it awkward). I came across Crown and Glory when the lady behind it all, Sophie, added me on twitter and we got chatting, I immediately got excited as soon as I checked out the site - handmade hair pieces!

Sophie told me that Crown and Glory is made all by herself and is just a passion she has and loves to do in her spare time. This is also how I feel about my blog so here's to a dedicated Crown and Glory post!

Here are some of my favourite bits from the site:

And here is my piece:

Beautiful packaging - it also had sweets in yum!

Orlaith Comb - £6
I've never used a comb piece in my hair before, I adore it! It stays in for ages!

What do you think? What items do you like?

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and nobody has been blown away by this insane wind we are having in the UK!
Peace

EDIT: - if you type in 'COWBISCUITS' at the checkout you can get 15% off your order! This is until the end of December!

Takashi Murakami J-POP!

Something a little different for you all today, this is an art post. I've been planning on doing one of these since I picked up the latest POP Magazine with the living legend Britney Spears on the front cover in a collaboration with Takashi Murakami - Japanese pop meets American pop.

Front cover.
The pictures give a real dreamy/pageant queen feel, slightly blurred and very soft.
The bag, Moonboots and swimsuit in this image are all bought from Japan.

Free Murakami stickers.
The whole interview had been given the Murakami treatment.
Britney and Takashi.
NB: all photos of magazine taken by me and my copy of POP so ask if you are going to use.

Takashi Murakami been described as a 'contemporary Warhol' and this isn't the first time he's dipped into pop-culture. Murakami designed the artwork for Kanye West's album art and promotions for the 'Graduation' album.

Murakami also directed this awesome, whimsical video featuring Kirsten Dunst which was played at the Tate Modern during their 'Pop life' exhibition:

Doesn't it make you want to run out a buy a blue wig?

Well hope you liked my slightly different post!

Outfit Post: Day N' Night.

This outfit post I took last week on my day off but saved it for this week 'cus I'm working up until it gets dark most days now and finding it harder to take outfit pics!

Navy Pleated Sleeve Dress - £36 Miss. Selfridge.
Contrast Camel and Navy cardigan - £24 Vero Moda.
Purple Agate necklace - £4 River Island.
Shade 03 Lipstick - 70p MUA
What I love about this dress is that paired with a cardigan and boots it's great for day time, but I wore this dress with a leather jacket and wedges for a night out.

The sleeves are ruffled like bows, not too puffy i hardly noticed them but a nice little detail.
There is a chunky silver zip halfway up the back which also looks awesome.

I also wore these tattoo tights from Topshop, they excited me too much not to pick them up.
Swallow Tights - £6 Topshop

Incase you didn't notice (I took this pre-halloween) I had pink and blue hair. It was worse/all over on Hallowz but I miss having colours in my hair - stupid work :(

Have you all had a good Bonfire/Firework weekend? I went out 2 nights in a row, anyone who follows me on Twitter would have seen my drunk tweets/celebrity harassing, so am paying for it today, I think it's lack of sleep more so than a hangover (keep telling myself that!).

I've only just sort of worked out how to use my Bloglovin' too, so feel free to add me on that if you prefer it  :)
