Growing Up Slowly.

Oh Hello!!

Once again my spare room is being inhabited by a feral kitten (she's not feral now and actually going back to work tomorrow - cue heart breaking instagram posts) so I've been slacking on the ol' blog. I think this will be my last kitty for a few months as kitten season is OVER! HOORAYY! haha.

Anyway this post you may have noticed is about growing up, and my version of growing up is buying myself a pair of boots that have a slight heel to them! I know, I'm almost 27 and I've only just managed it. I only own one pair of slightly high platforms which I've worn to death. I'm so used to wearing hiking books or little flat pixie boots that it was time to grow up and branch out.

The moment has hit a few times when out with friends and even though I'm dressed up etc their outfits are always just a little more completed with a slight heel which automatically made me feel under-dressed. I cannot walk in heels, they hurt and I feel like Bambi after a single drink so I've opted for the small heeled boot and as shown in my purchase above - a slight platform.

My pal Nina helped me out (as a heeled boot pro) and I settled on the ones above from New Look. I love them! I love how they are half suede and half pleather with a nice chunk of platform. I thought I would share with you a few other boots I've fallen in love with via various internet stores that maybe once I'm comfortable in my new shoes I can branch out with:

star cowboy boot
These beauts I LOVE. They are from Daisy Street via ASOS and although I wouldn't know what the hell to wear them with  and I'd probably just sit looking at them - I think they are awesome!

These gorgeous western style boots are incredible. They are from New Look and I def have my eyes on them!

These Office glittery babes are more my height. I just think they are magical.

So there is my little slice of growing up slowly, as sad as it may seem I felt so good purchasing and wearing my new boots :)

Halloween Decorations with Tiger

Hello!

Well we have hit October which is the BEST month, the leaves all turn, the weather gets colder and it's Halloween!

You may remember previous years where I decorated my whole flat, well now i have a house and less enthusiasm about taking it all down! I hope to go do the Pick Your Own Pumpkin thing again this year and re-do the corn maze there too!

I picked up a couple bits from Tiger this year and have some left overs from previous years to do a little decorating in the front windows and here they are:

tiger stores halloween decorations
Black Cat Lantern - £2
Black Cat Flashing LED Head - £1
The cutie cross-stitch tray is also from Tiger, I think it was £2 too!

I adore Halloween, I get to get my Ghost jumper out and have a huge array of Halloween theme socks! I also love dressing Prince up as I have every year although this year he may not be as forthcoming as he's 3 now and a little bit more independent (still a soppy mummys boy though!)

I posted last year about how the great the ASOS Halloween range of Halloween treats and they have not disappointed again this year either!

I'm not sure of my plans quite yet, probably junk food and cheesy horror movies. At work we are having a Black Cat Day to appreciate all our beautiful black kitties who get overlooked for other colours so if you are in the area PLEASE come along!

What are your Halloween plans?

Zodiac Necklaces with Me & Zena.

I love the Zodiac and I love being a Capricorn. I've been into Astrology somewhat since I was a kid and although I don't believe it rules your life daily (or at all) I do think some of the traits are very true. My sign is a Goat - totally not flattering at all! BUT the actual Zodiac symbol is very cute and that's what I embrace most (I thought goats were associated with Satan anyway which is probably not something to go shouting about).

Me & Zena have bought out a collection of jewelry based on the Zodiac symbols and their gem stones. I decided to pick up the necklace (As I have tiny fingers so rings don't always fit me - cry!) in my symbol.

Capricorn Zodiac Necklace - Me & Zena.
Capricorn Greeting Card - Rosie Wonders
I actually bought this so I can frame it, I love it! This lady has some incredible pieces of jewelry on her site as well as some prints I want to get and frame when I can! Maybe I will do a separate post to show some of my faves off.

I love how the little gem stone is on your actual zodiac symbol,
I'm Garnet which is associated with mystery and purity.

Which are you?

I love anything that has Capricorn involved in it so these items are awesome! I actually bought a Zodiac symbol t-shirt from Topshop not long ago which will make it's debut on here sometime I'm sure :)

I hope your week is going well, I'm still sofa-ridden with a hotwater bottle under my back watching every episode of The US Office (Jim and Pam have me feeling emotional).

Falconwright - The Greatest Clutches On Earth!

Like I said in my last post, I've been pretty ill the past week, I'm not entirely sure what is up, I have all the flu symptoms only without the mucus. Gross - I'm sorry.

Anyway to cheer myself up when I'm not sleeping I've been oogling pretty clutch bags from Falconwright

Falconwright is a handmade and hand-screen printed two-woman company based in Toronto. Sandi (see her amazing illustrations here) and Danielle (who sell beautiful jewelry here) are both incredibly talented in their own right but come together to create something special. They use their own designs and prints to create these gorgeous clutches, card holders and mini-pouches.

I've chosen my favourites to show off here and it was really hard to not add it all:

I LOVE this!

I'm obsessed with Zodiac symbols and this is amazing!

There is something about the way this print sits and the gorgeous yellow that I am in love with.

Cactus Clutch.
This is my other fave actually available on ASOS (as is the Ouija print and Zodiac print.).

So what do you think of these beauties? I feel like these ladies have incorporated everything I love and put them onto cute clutches!

I'm back off to lay on the sofa and re-watch the American Office on Netflix.

Peace

Trainer Wishlist.

Happy Friday!

This week has seemed to go on FOREVER! I know the weekend will just fly by though :(

This week I joined the gym, I've been feeling awful about my body for a long time now and I've been eating well but nothing is changing so I've decided the only way this will work out for me is if I get some exercise too(that isnt Yoga)! Plus it was on my 2014 goals list so I decided to take the plunge.

I joined a hotel gym so I can use a pool (and obvs the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi) to swim which is a fun way to exercise plus go to a smaller gym where it won't be full of people making me look bad. I aim to go at least 3 times a week but hoping it will be more once I get a good routine. I've been twice so far and love it! Today I'm having a day off as I'm aching a bit but tomorrow I'll be back in there (after a long lay-in of course!)

You can see my current trainers here in my Nike 5.0+ post however I don't want to wear these to death so will save up and treat myself after 3 months if - and ONLY if - I go 3 times a week! Here are my current fave trainers:

uk blogger health and fitness
New Balance 410 - Schuh
These are so cute, I love the shape and the colour.
uk blogger health and fitness
Adidas Zx700 Contempt - Office
I love the pops of colour on these plus they look super comfortable.
New Balance 410 - ASOS
Again I love how dainty and feminine this New Balance style looks.

Nike Air Sculpt - JD Sports
I already love my Nikes and these look like they would serve well for the gym.

New Balance 574 - JD Sports
These are slightly chunkier but I feel like my feet wouldn't kill me after a day in them!

Nike Flyknit Air Max - Nike Store.
HELLO THE DREAM SHOE! These are wonderful and amazing but, yeah, they are £180.

Any gym goers out there who can give me some tips on fighting through the aches and pains?

Have a lovely weekend dears,

Kimono Skater Dress - Wedding Outfit post.

As I mentioned a couple weeks back I went back to Devon last weekend for a wedding.

It was a great day, the weather wasn't so great but it was all inside a marque so everybody was dry. It was a boozy affair (our party favours were home-made spirits) but luckily I got to spend a few days in Devon recovering!

Here is the dress I wore, I dyed my hair Pearl Blonde again and only wore a couple of little silver rings as the dress was embellished:

Dress: ASOS
Shoes: Primark

Although I look pretty chunky here (much to my dismay!) but I'm thinking it may be the skater style skirt with the kimono embellished top half doesn't photograph well!

Anyway I do love the dress and it's really pretty.

This weekend I was still poorly, I rested, partied (a tiny bit) and also went to watch Merthyr Town loose the playoffs sadly not make it into the next league.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Winter Boots - I Just Can't Get Enough.

Once I find a pair of boots for  the Winter - I'm done!

I'm still in my navy, borg boots from last year and I really fancy a change. Since it's November already I've been planning on what to ask for Christmas and boots are on the top of the list - so here are the boots that have made my short-list... so far!

MURRY Hiker Cuff Boot - Topshop.
These are my ultimate favourite, I don't just want these I need these! I've been looking for some passable hiking boots that actually look good too.
Elastic Lace-Up Boot - Topshop
These are so cute but they look like they have no grip and I would slide so much!
Desert Hugs - Clarks
I've included these before, I love Clarks desert boots and these are the ultimate in keeping your feet warm.
Chunk Sole Burgundy Desert Boots - Dune.
This colour is gorgeous and I love the slightly thicker sole for a desert boot.
Leather & Wool Tartan Boots - F-Troupe
The sweetest and of course most expensive! Super 'on-trend' with the tartan and adorable too.

I'm pretty sure it's a toss up between the Clarks and the Hiking Boots as a winner for me, what do you think?

P.S -
As its getting colder QCumber Clothing have set up 'Every jumper bought - a jumper is donated to the homeless' basically you buy an awesome QCumber Jumper and they will personally be going out on the 16th and 17th giving their jumpers to the homeless to keep them a bit warmer during these freezing days/nights.

This is only on until the 10th so be quick and do a good deed today!

The Big Day - outfit post.

A little different outfit post for you today - this is the dress I wore to my Mothers wedding last weekend.

It took me so long to choose a dress, we're not really a traditional kinda family, the wedding reception was in a local pub and we ate chicken kebabs for the meal (as well as other food!) so I didn't want your usual kinda fancy looking dress. I actually bought 3 from ASOS and tried them all but this one was the clear winner!

The pub (you can see the outdoor seating) was right on this beautiful river.
Casio Watch - TheWatchHut
I usually wear my gold Casio but as I was wearing silver rings this went so well! I love it!
The 'Button Hole' Flowers I had to wear.
My nails for the wedding.

It was a lovely day in such a beautiful location!
Congratulations to my Mum and Simon and I'm actually back down in Devon again this weekend to visit my Australian cousin who came down as a suprise for the wedding!

Take care <3 p="">x

Fred Perry Wishlist

I love Fred Perry, I remember when i was about 14 I got a polo shirt and wore it until it's death!

Last year I got this Fred Perry Dress (oh wow this post makes me want my fringe back in ASAP) as a special treat and I feel a pattern emerging with wearing things to death!

Anyway here are some of my new FP faves:

Leopard Print Dress - £80
This dress is my absolute fave. I love how subtle the leopard print is.
Fontana Loafer - £65
This are part of the Twisted Wheel collection. I know alot about the Twisted Wheel as my dad was a member and still has his original pass.
Tipped Long Cardigan - £100
Leopard Print Polo - £60
Harrington Jacket - £150
I love this so much! The colour and the inside are fabulous.
Are you a Fred Perry fan?

Style Inspiration - Lana Del Rey.

Lana Del Rey is one of my fashion icons - I love her! She is so simple yet amazing, her personality shines through her style and if you listen to her music too (which I adore) you can totally pick up on this. New music doesn't really appeal to me much these days but Lana's amazing lyrics (which she wrote every word herself) speak volumes to me and her haunting voice makes me feel so dreamy.

Here are my Lana Del Rey inspired fashions:

COCO Shorts - Ukulele
WILDFOX Sequin Skull Blouse - Via SpoiledBrat.co.uk

If anyone knows where I can get this shirt... holla.
Whole Lotta Rosie Ice Cream Headband - Crown & Glory
WILDFOX Rose Gold Curved Ring - via AdHoc London
Heart Shaped Sunglasses - ASOS

Do you like Lana Del Rey and her style?
What ladies inspire you?

Tomorrow I am shooting with the awesome Julian Castaldi (who has shot pictures with Liam Gallagher and Iggy Pop) and his gorgeous wife Ellie (who has done make-up for Sophie Dahl), the shoot will be all about American flags, skateboards and old American bikes - I'm super excited!
