Growing Up Slowly.

Oh Hello!!

Once again my spare room is being inhabited by a feral kitten (she's not feral now and actually going back to work tomorrow - cue heart breaking instagram posts) so I've been slacking on the ol' blog. I think this will be my last kitty for a few months as kitten season is OVER! HOORAYY! haha.

Anyway this post you may have noticed is about growing up, and my version of growing up is buying myself a pair of boots that have a slight heel to them! I know, I'm almost 27 and I've only just managed it. I only own one pair of slightly high platforms which I've worn to death. I'm so used to wearing hiking books or little flat pixie boots that it was time to grow up and branch out.

The moment has hit a few times when out with friends and even though I'm dressed up etc their outfits are always just a little more completed with a slight heel which automatically made me feel under-dressed. I cannot walk in heels, they hurt and I feel like Bambi after a single drink so I've opted for the small heeled boot and as shown in my purchase above - a slight platform.

My pal Nina helped me out (as a heeled boot pro) and I settled on the ones above from New Look. I love them! I love how they are half suede and half pleather with a nice chunk of platform. I thought I would share with you a few other boots I've fallen in love with via various internet stores that maybe once I'm comfortable in my new shoes I can branch out with:

star cowboy boot
These beauts I LOVE. They are from Daisy Street via ASOS and although I wouldn't know what the hell to wear them with  and I'd probably just sit looking at them - I think they are awesome!

These gorgeous western style boots are incredible. They are from New Look and I def have my eyes on them!

These Office glittery babes are more my height. I just think they are magical.

So there is my little slice of growing up slowly, as sad as it may seem I felt so good purchasing and wearing my new boots :)

No7 Match Made Lipstick Service

On Saturday I went down to Boots in Cardiff city center where they were holding a little event in aid of their new No7 Match Made lipstick service. There was a photobooth in which customers were invited to come along to get Match Made and then lipsynch along to the new advert for a video or have some photobooth snaps to keep!

You may have heard of their foundation match service where they use a little machine thingy (not the technical term) and take a photo of your skin tone to see which foundation is the perfect match for you. Well this is another beauty first for No7 who can now tell you, by your skin tone, just exactly which lip colour suits you best!

I was 'Cool Vanilla' and I got to look at all the shades suited to me and choose which I felt most in the mood for and went for 'Soft Paprika' - which was gorgeous! I wanted to try more but I wanted something bright to wear while I went to get some other involved in the photobooth action and talk beauty with customers at the No7 counter.

There are 43 new flattering lipsticks which are set out to complement your specific skin tone so there is something out there for everyone! They are available in formulas 'Moisture Drench' (my personal fave) or 'Stay Perfect'.

I love photobooth they are so much fun especially getting 4 completely different pictures, here is the video that was blasting through the store and grabbing people in to lipsynch (or shout) along to:

I really recommend going for the service, it's totally free and you can keep your card that shows you all the No7 shades best suited to you - plus you can try them all then and there with the awesome No7 staff!

Thanks for having me Boots - it was a blast!

I Love My Clarks.

I've mentioned a couple times on my blog that I've been after some Clarks and this Christmas I finally got lucky! I got my favourite pair - the Desert Hugs.
They are a suede desert boot with a fur inside lining to keep feet extra snuggly in the cold weather and also makes you feel like you are walking on a little cloud.

I've refused to wear them in the rain but I'm hoping we are out of the storm now and my feet can get cosy and warm without getting soggy!

Clarks have also released previews of their SS14 range and here are my fave picks:

Milly Dilly Satchel.

Hotel Image Cut-Out Shoe
(my fave! how good will these look in Spring/Summer?)

Do you wear Clarks? They were a childhood go-to for school shoes for me but I'm also loving them as an adult :).

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Ohh go on then!

I've seen these posted on about a billion blogs BUT I don't care! I got sucked in, I bought one, yes you know it, it's the...TOPSHOP PETER PAN COLLAR TUNIC!

I got a navy one (although blogger likes to squish my images so it looks almost black in the 2nd picture) and I love it!

Topshop Peter Pan tunic - £28
It's short so I'll definitely find a way to layer this up with a coat of long cardi, any colour suggestions?
It has loonng sleeves that bell out a bit, they have a very 60's/70's feel so I opted to just roll the sleeves up which I usually do with anything long sleeved - I need to be free!
I teamed the tunic up with my (fairly) new boots from River Island - £39.99
They keep my feet so snug!

On Sunday I was lucky enough to win a Twitter competition held by the lovely Temporary Secretary  who specialise in gorgeous, cute, and quirky jewellery. I'm also in love with this 'Mr.Squid' necklace!

I won the 'Red Lips' necklace and could you think of a better thing to suit me?
To get your own 'Red Lips' necklace click HERE.
What Topshop piece are you loving at the moment?

Don't forget to enter the giveaway if you haven't already - The winner will be chosen Monday.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

New Outfit - Velvet Skirt.

Just a quick one to show you all my new skirt in that love or it hate fabric - VELVET!

Apparently (or so the magazines tell us) velvet is huge this A/W, so I decided to give it a whirl:

You can't see that it's velvet - but it is!
Primark - £5

The shirt is an old one my boyfriend bought for me - owls, multi-coloured triangles, need I say more?

I'm currently not very well so apologies for the small post, also I have to decide on a pair of boots whether I like them best in Brown or Black - I'm SO stuck!

Boots Gift With Purchase - Collection 2000 and Models Own.

Upon hearing the River Island sale started Thursday, I woke up really early and headed into tow to catch a bargain. Much to my dismay there was nothing in my size - boo!
So I went on over to Boots where I thought I'd cheer myself up by buying more unneeded cosmetics (my poor make-up bag is about the burst!)

Heres what I picked up:

With Collection 2000 it was spend £4 and get a free Pure Gloss sheer lipgloss worth £1.99

Eyeshadow Trio Pallet - £2.99, which I needed anyway.
Hot Looks nail polish in Parma Violet - £1.79, comes out a dark blue/purple and chipped easily :(

Gloss comes in different colours, I chose No.2 'Lollipop'
This is on my hand, its bright and look thick.

But on I was pleasantly surprised, its not thick and isn't sticky at all.
Plus it tastes just like Vanilla!

Next up, Models Own had buy ANY polish and get a free Shape It file/buffer.

I chose 'Snow White' - £5, I needed a white to do my little nail art attempts.

Has a 'rough' nail file side.

Even and Smooth.

Buff and Shine - and shine it does!!

So make sure you go out and pick up these bargains before they go!
Both highly recommend so treat yourself!
