Catch Up!

This post is just a quick catch-up really about what I've been/am going to be upto. Warning there will be alot of links and youtube's, if you haven't already closed the page already then you may notice this post is kinda just filler.

Tomorrow I'm off to see Glassjaw in Cardiff,  I've been a huge Glassjaw fan since I was 13 (I'm 21 now) and this will be my 4th time seeing them and I can't wait to hear some new stuff live. I'm also hoping to go to Hooters for some famous hot wings, I've been addicted to hot wings since my visit to Long Island in Jan.

Speaking of Long Island that just so happens to be where Glassjaw are from (you see how this all ties in nicely?) and my friends band have just come off the US tour with them, check them out:

I rediscovered my love for Tumblr the past week or so too, my favourite is this one: Smallrooms. I've been thinking alot about moving out recently and the pictures on there give me SO much inspiration!

My fave lipstick this week has been Kat Von D's Hellbent:

Read my Kat Von D make-up reviews here, here and here.

And to round this up, here is my favourite song of the week, please give it a listen:

Peace

Backstage Bambi,

Hello!

Wow sorry for the lack of posts last week, I've been real busy working and once I'm done all i want to do is sleep! I also bought Sims 3 in the week and I've lost my real life due to playing my fake one!

This week I haven't stopped wearing one of my FAVE lipsticks by the amazing Kat Von D, I actually got this for Christmas not in NY (for a change!). Now most of you will know I love Kat's make-up range and have blogged about them before here and here, and you will know how much I favour the lip-paints for how long they last and the gorgeous colours. So here it is:

Kat Von D, Painted Love - Backstage Bambi.

Please excuse the wrinkles on my forhead! If anyone out there knows of a GOOD deep wrinkle cream (not anti-aging) I know I'm only 21 but I laugh/smile so much (just kidding it's usually frowning!) I really wanna stop this wrinkle making me look about 80 by the time I am 30!!

Hope you all had an awesome weekend - work tomorrow *sigh*!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick - review.

Sometimes the Rimmel website has awesome promotions on where you can win one of 8,000 full size samples of new products. I've actually had a few and here is one I got through of their new Lasting Finish lipsticks:

The colour I got was 014 - 'Sweetie'. With things like lipsticks you can actually chose which colour you win so I chose this pinky one. The face of the campaign is Zooey Deschanel and I saw this on her and loved it. (EDIT: She actually wears Heartbreaker BUT she's a Goddess either way).

It's a red/pink with glittery bits in. It looks quite sheer here but goes on darker.

You can see the glitter here, it's not hard and you can't feel it so it's definitely a lovely glitzy add-on.

I already use a Rimmel lipstick in 'Alert' it's definitely my go-to lipstick as it goes on quick and smooth with no fussy packaging.
Plus it smells like cherries! AMAZING!

What new lippy's have you used recently?

Some New Barry M - Reviews and swatches.

Over on Barry M's Facebook on Tuesday there was a special friends code for 30% off any order - ohh how could I say no!?

If it hasn't been VERY apparent (what with all my posts on the subject) I LOVE lipstick! So it would be wrong for me not to pick one up. I've never used Barry M lipstick before (or Lip Paint as they call it) so as a huge nail polish fan of theirs I decided to try:

The colour I picked up was the first I saw, a new colour named 'Pink Ribbon' , the others I kept seeing were nuts things like Robot Blue and that isn't for me!
£4.25 without discount.

Swatch: first one is two layers, second with only one layer.

Here is it on! It's just a plain simple pink which is nice for those days when I'm not into wearing alot of make-up.
It has good lasting power,  I can certainly see why they are called 'paints'

I'm a huge nail polish fan, especially Barry M, you can't go wrong it's cheap, it lasts and they have so many to chose from. Recently they bought out the 'effects' nail paint, which the world has gone nuts for (including me) but also 2 new A/W shades - 'Dusky Mauve' and 'Indigo'.

I only picked up one, and the one in question is the 'Dusky Mauve'. Apparently this is a dead ringer for the Chanel 'Particuliere' I got it wrong! Paradoxal! I've not tried the Chanel so can't say but plenty of reviews and bloggers claim it is.

As you can see it has a slightly bruised effect with a hint of mauve shimmer.

My room was so dark it was hard to get a good snap of this so:
Without flash
With flash.
You can kinda see the shimmer, it looks alot more purple in these pics, I'd say it's slightly browner.

Have you used any Barry M lip paints? What colours were good?

Ohh go on then!

I've seen these posted on about a billion blogs BUT I don't care! I got sucked in, I bought one, yes you know it, it's the...TOPSHOP PETER PAN COLLAR TUNIC!

I got a navy one (although blogger likes to squish my images so it looks almost black in the 2nd picture) and I love it!

Topshop Peter Pan tunic - £28
It's short so I'll definitely find a way to layer this up with a coat of long cardi, any colour suggestions?
It has loonng sleeves that bell out a bit, they have a very 60's/70's feel so I opted to just roll the sleeves up which I usually do with anything long sleeved - I need to be free!
I teamed the tunic up with my (fairly) new boots from River Island - £39.99
They keep my feet so snug!

On Sunday I was lucky enough to win a Twitter competition held by the lovely Temporary Secretary  who specialise in gorgeous, cute, and quirky jewellery. I'm also in love with this 'Mr.Squid' necklace!

I won the 'Red Lips' necklace and could you think of a better thing to suit me?
To get your own 'Red Lips' necklace click HERE.
What Topshop piece are you loving at the moment?

Don't forget to enter the giveaway if you haven't already - The winner will be chosen Monday.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

MAC Viva Glam - Lady Gaga Lipglass.

I'm back! I had a great time in Manchester seeing my family, friends, shopping and getting drunk with Drag Queens and unfortunately I have to come back to reality (which I currently hate), so I'm feeling a little uninspired.

Last time I was uninspired I posted about my MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick  and when we were in Manchester my mum treated me to the new Viva Glam Gaga lipglass to match my fave lippy! I bought loads when I was up there but will save this for other posts, here is my lipglass:

As you can see the box is almost the same as the lipstick with the Gaga signature on it.

It keeps to the lipsticks pink/blue colour which I adore.
Also we mustn't forget that 'every cent of the selling price' of the Viva Glam range goes to the MAC AIDS fund.

It gives exactly the same colour but its shiny so great for keeping lips moist in the Winter time, and lets face it it's freaking cold out there now!!

I must also add one of my favourite parts of my trip was eating in Tampopo. I love all things noodles so this was a treat as we don't have one down here in boring old Devon - plus you get free mints:

Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you havn't already - click HERE! I've been really busy and stressed so lacked on the replying to comments (I won't for this post, promise!) and checking out new followers so I am really sorry and will do that later in the week!

Hope your weekend has been awesome, what did you get upto?

Outfit: Grunge-tastic!

The mags are going wild for Grunge right now, and as a 90's child (missed the 80's by 1 day can you believe!?) and a total goff, I'm all up for a bit of grunge.
I recently watched a documentary on Kurt and Courtney so I decided to channel my inner Courtney and do a grunge based outfit post.

Jumper - Primark £11
Shorts - Primark £8

Belt - Therapy - £12.99
Ring - H&M - £1.99 (pack of 4)

This is the first time I've curled my hair since having a fringe,
I keep it all together with the fittingly titled 'Rockaholic' by TIGI

Brooklyn T - Topshop - £18
I'm down for anything rock n' roll, studs, leather, baggy jumpers and big hair - I'm there! I'm even starting up my own GlamRock n' Roll band (which will probably fail like all my other bands haha).

Also, I've hit to big 300 so possibly Friday I will announce a giveaway for all you lovelies!
I'm off the Manchester on Friday until Monday, any bloggers from Manc?

Don't forget to hit me up on Twitter or MSN I'm loving talking to all you new people :)

MAC Venomous Villains - review and swatches.

As all of you MAC Cosmetics fans know they recently teamed up with Disney to form the 'Venomous Villains' collection, all of course are limited edition and most of it sold out pretty much as soon as it launched on the website on Monday.

Luckily I managed to pick up a couple pieces, I would have liked more but my bank account will not allow it right now, so here's what I got:

'Innocence, Beware!' part of the Cruella DeVille range (and personally my fave villain - minus the puppy murder!)
Alot of reviews have been saying how cheap the packaging is but I really love i
t, especially the outer packaging.
It's a dark pink nude colour in a Creme Sheen - so great for Winter! Nice and creamy so will keep lips moist and last a long time.

With it on (lack of lighting here apologies!)
I really like it, it makes a change form wearing red or pink.

Nail Laquer in 'Formidable!' - part of the Maleficent collection.
It's described as having a 'bruise' look to it which I can totally see.

1 coat - start our a burgundy/plum colour  with a hint of glitter.
it goes on easy, MAC Lacquer's are also 4-free which is good for nails!

2nd coat - alot deeper, more blue with an extra layer of glitter.

3rd coat - more of a purple/blue/green mix, in the light its amazing but hard to capture on a camera.
The glitter is amazing!

What are your favourite items from the VV collection? Did you manage to pick any up?
Also check out the lovely Sammi's blog tomorrow for her pick-ups and reviews :)

A girl can never have enough lipstick!

After a long week of being ill I'm almost back to my usual self, so apologies for the lack of posts last week I've been erm...very lethargic!
Last week at work a colleague wanted to get a bag from Avon but you had to spend over a certain amount and she needed to make up £5, so being the kind soul I am, I decided to help out and get me some new lipsticks (and an eyeshadow duo but I'll post that one tomorrow). Like my title says - a girl can never have enough lipstick!

Part of 'Color Trend: Kiss n' Go'.
In 'Garnet Glow' and 'Amethyst'
 L-R: 'Amethyst', 'Garnet Glow'
This is Garnet Glow it's a pinky-red with glittery bits in, it's actually alot lighter in person.

This picture doesn't show the glitter very well but it's very subtle and really nice and smooth.

This is Amethyst, a darker pink almost purple, love this for a wintery look.

Anyone who follows me on Twitter will know how excited I was for the MAC Venomous Villains collection to be released online today, I managed to pick up 2 pieces (despite wanting 3 but I'm on a tight budget!) so look out for them at the end of the week.

Also today I was featured on the beautiful Sophia's Journal as part of her Sunday Click List, I was shocked to see my face pop up there haha.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

MAC lip treats.

The best thing about your mum going on holiday for a week and leaving you to look after all the naughty animals? The presents!

Obviously I got the usual foreign sweets but what I didn't expect was some lovely M.A.C lip goodies!

M.A.C Satin lipstick - a classic bright red-blue in 'Mac Red'.
M.A.C Lip Conditioner - Soft petroleum based (but not gloopy like a vaseline) perfect for a base under lipstick on winer lips.
Just the lipstick on it's own.

With the conditioner underneath. It gives it a glossy look which is in all the magazines as going to be HUGE this A/W.

I love them both and how I can go from matte to glossy just by combining the products. So thankyou mum!

Tomorrow is the last day you can enter my giveaway (click HERE) so hurry!!

Also today I won an Eyeko competition and won the book 'The Queen of New Beginnings' - I never win anything so I'm very happy :)

MAC Viva Glam - Lady Gaga Lipstick.

I've had such a busy week with work, planning for Paris and the stress of my car, Troy, collapsing on me, that I've been feeling a bit...uninspired.
So to cheer myself up and get the inspiration flowing, I thought why not share one of my favourite things with my lovely blog readers!

My MAC Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick is my favourite lipstick, not only is it fronted by Lady Gaga, with her signature scribbled on the base, but the colour is amazing and packaging looks great.

It's described as a lustre blue-pink,
I'd say it would possibly suit fair skinned/blonde people as a light pink can often wash out darker hair and complexions.

Not only is the colour gorgeous but MAC's Viva Glam give "every cent of the selling price" to the MAC AIDS Fund - a cause which I support fully.

First swatch is of one layer, 2nd is of 4.
Apparently the more you use it, the brighter it gets!

I love the colour, it's great for a daytime look and it stays on the lips for ages!

What colour lipsticks do you use? Which is your favourite?
Don't forget my next post will be my giveaway and I have a little collection of things ready and waiting!
