Giveaway + Cat Cake - In Your Letterbox!

Last week the postman came and went without me knowing, on my doorstep was a parcel that fit perfectly and inside that parcel was a cake! CAKE IN THE POST!

I was contacted by BakerDays to see if I wanted to give a little review of their Easter letterbox cakes and I have one for one of you lot for have too (see below!). I went for a cute pastel, Easter print photo cake and obviously had Princes face printed on it! 

I got Vanilla sponge but you have the option to have Belgian chocolate sponge, fruit cake and Gluten free Vanilla sponge. The cakes also come in larger sizes and the largest even comes with a free balloon - cute! 

The cake came in its own tin on a proper cake base which is sealed so it's super fresh. I loved the novelty of opening the tin and seeing my Prince's little head on a cake! You can get any message you want on there too!

The actual cake itself is incredibly soft, has a lovely sweet icing that isn't too thick on top with a thin layer of butter icing too.

This is such a cute gift idea and I've kept the tin too just because it's so cute!

Giveaway: Benefit Bling Brow Limited Edition Giftset

Le Bistrot Pierre Cardiff Review + GIVEAWAY!

This is a different kind review as I'm actually going to have half of it with a guest poster - my boyfriend Ross! He will be reviewing his dishes (I'll mark them with a 'Ross') and me - mine!

This past Friday evening we went to the Le Bistrot Pierre in Cardiff's Brewery Quarter to review our meal and experience there. We've been before when it first opened a few months back and loved it so were super excited to get back and try something else from the menu.

Before I forget I have to mention how amazing the service was, the first time we went I think we got forgotten about a bit but this time was a different story. I thought it was maybe because they knew I was reviewing but I watched two other servers dealing with other customers and they were very attentive and just lovely.

St. Jean House Red Wine (Ross):
As a long time fan and self proclaimed guzzler of red wine I was ecstatic with our choice of swill for the evening. The St Jean house wine was as full - bodied and moreish as you could hope.

Appetisers and Starters: 

Gousse d'ail rotti (Ross):
The appetizer I opted for was a whole roasted garlic bulb served with artisan bread and a shallow dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The garlic was tangy and decadent and was so soft that it could quite literally be spread.

Brioche et champignions:
For my starter I had creamy mushrooms with bacon bits on a squidgy Brioche slice. This was so good I could of had this twice! I love creamy sauces and this went so well with everything on the plate.

Parfait au foie de volaille (Ross):
The chicken liver parfait was light and rich in equal measure and went well with the brioche toast and plum chutney on offer. If I had any complaints here I would say the pate to toast ratio is off but being the gluttonous pig I am I soon polished the rest of the pate off with a fork. No regrets.

Mains:

Poulet aux truffes:
Like I said before I'm mad for mushrooms and this is a selection of wild mushrooms on pan-friend chicken breast with truffle oil. It was amazing, I wanted to lick the bowl the sauce was so good. Looking at it now my stomach is growling.

Saucisse de Toulouse (Ross):
My main was a hefty helping of Toulouse sausages accompanied with a beautiful tomato dressing enhanced with capers and all the natural bed fellows you would expect to find in a dish like this. Two soft poached eggs were served up with this french fare but they were extremely soft but the clue is in the title there. A tasty portion none the less.

Dessert:

Cafe Gourmand:
We were feeling pretty full however the desserts sounded SO good we decided to go for a mini platter of some of the best sellers that came with an Esspresso shot.
We had; caramelized lemon tart, raspberry sorbet, sticky honey pudding and a chocolate torte (which is already half eaten in this picture!). Incredible!

Pancake Party + Giveaway!

February is just around the corner and that means the sweet-tooths favorite holiday is here - Pancake day! Only one thing sucks about this day - I can never make pancakes right! They either stick to the pan or burn on the outside but stay as batter in the center, plus what a mess doing all the washing up!

Things I Loved This Week.

Hey!

So I was thinking maybe I'd make this "Things I Loved This Week" post a regular thing, like do it on a Sunday/Monday and kinda recap on the week past? What do you think? WELL anyway here is this weeks:

The first 3 minutes of True Blood season 4 are HERE. I can't even begin to explain my excitement to have True Blood (and that sexy werewolf) back on our screens! If you have never seen it I urge you to go watch season 1, I'm not into all that vampire junk but this is pure amazing!

Tapered Blending E40 - I had no idea what this was for but apparently "designed to apply and blend colour on the crease" - yup!

Eye Shading E55 - Super soft with a rounded end, great for applying loose eye shadows.
Pencil E30 - Great for applying eyeshadow on the corners and crease of the eye.

Blondes vs. Brunettes - outfit post.

Some of you might remember THIS post where I had a baby pink wig on, well I also mentioned that i bought a brunette wig. I've had my bleached blonde hair since I was 16 (I'm 21 now) and despite getting complimented on it alot I do get the urge to dye it dark!

So here is me and my wig as a brunette, I want your honest opinions! 

Also can you all take time to appreciate my swagged out shorts, I have been living in them!
The top and headband are both from New Look.

My real hair only reaches my shoulders, so if I did go dark I'd have to have extensions which I generally dislike unless you are mega rich and can afford somebody great to do it!

Dirrty Denim -outfit post.

With spring fully in bloom, the weather this week has been perfect! 

Here is an outfit I wore this week on my day off with my friends on a sunny walk that inevitably led to this creepy place for a good old fashion ghost hunt (we actually changed it to 'killer' hunt over the course of the day which made no sense).
