cat easter cake

Last week the postman came and went without me knowing, on my doorstep was a parcel that fit perfectly and inside that parcel was a cake! CAKE IN THE POST!

I was contacted by BakerDays to see if I wanted to give a little review of their Easter letterbox cakes and I have one for one of you lot for have too (see below!). I went for a cute pastel, Easter print photo cake and obviously had Princes face printed on it!

I got Vanilla sponge but you have the option to have Belgian chocolate sponge, fruit cake and Gluten free Vanilla sponge. The cakes also come in larger sizes and the largest even comes with a free balloon - cute!

The cake came in its own tin on a proper cake base which is sealed so it's super fresh. I loved the novelty of opening the tin and seeing my Prince's little head on a cake! You can get any message you want on there too!

The actual cake itself is incredibly soft, has a lovely sweet icing that isn't too thick on top with a thin layer of butter icing too.

This is such a cute gift idea and I've kept the tin too just because it's so cute!

Now, as promised, you can win your very own Easter letter box cake!

You have 1 week to enter and to do so just follow the instructions below:

Purrstaid Kit - Feline LUTD Awareness!

Hills Science Plan Feline urinary diet

Hello!

Another cat post today and this time I want to talk about Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease! EXCITING STUFF! Haha no really working with cats I see it every day, cats who come in with LUTD and their previous owners never knew and bought them in for peeing around the house or they get it when they come into the center due to high stress.

A cat isn't like you or I (obvs) and can't tell us when something is bothering them. Signs like urinating around the house is an obvious one to watch out for, another is going in and out of the litter box alot but not leaving much in there or anything at all.

I've had issues with Prince and LUTD and sometimes the only thing needed to stop it is medication from a vet but also a change in diet! Feeding your cat with a special diet. I know it's not as cheap as buying supermarket brand but your cats health is SO important! To find out more about urinary diet and how to keep your cats kidneys and bladder healthy then have a look at Hills Science Plan and check out preventative ways to stop your cat getting urinary problems.

Lucky little Prince was sent a Purrstaid Kit which contained some Urinary food, a toy mouse, a water bowl (fresh water is so important!), a little pet hot water bottle and a box of catnip (which was immediately destroyed by Prince).

Hills Science Plan Feline urinary diet

feline urinary health

Did you know that 60% of cat owners have had trouble with their cat urinating in their home and 45% didn't know that urinary problems were a common thing. Although 63% of cat owners thought that some cat foods could cause urinary problems, only 3% changed their cat’s food in an attempt to solve the issue.

There is a list of local places that stock urinary food and also £5 off Hills when you register with them - awesome! :)

Anxiety's Door

Oh Hey!

Just thought I'd stick a 'life lately' type post up today as I've not been feeling massively myself the past week or so. Really not sure what has changed as I had been blissfully happy. It might be that I had a little head cold thing on my week off this week or maybe just the change in season that's messing with my head.

When I feel like this my fave things to do are getting snuggled up, sticking on something entertaining on TV, having a LUSH bath, playing some records and make myself a cuppa to chill me out.

I went back home on my week off which was a nice change of scenery. As much as I do love living on my own, feeling a little lonely is obviously going to happen from time to time. I also feel that since my fairly recent break-up and moving that I've lost quite alot of my social life. I really really do not care about not getting wrecked and being hungover every weekend but I do miss the social circle that came with it all. I do make an effort but I know it's hard when everyone works full-time and often do things spare of the moment or in their couples.

Getting out of the house helps alot and I really need to push myself to be a little more independent and actually go and do things on my own that aren't chores. I always want to go out for a walk but bottle going off on my own to the park or wherever which I really need to quit doing. I know it would make my head feel so much better.

On Saturday I got to go check out the new Vice 4 palette from Urban Decay. I love going to get my make-up done by pro's as I'm such a chicken at straying away from new colours. I'm heading back next week to try out something else new too.

As always my main source of joy come in the furry form of Prince. I've had him 3 years now and even though his personality has changed alot since the baby days he is still a mummas boy who loves to snuggle with me. I actually have a post coming up very soon about another little furry being who came into my life too.

What do you do to relax and calm your wandering mind?

I hope you had a brilliant, safe and fun Halloween!

Prince's Christmas Cat Gift Guide.

Hello!

So I came back from Devon last night and was mean't to do alot of blog related things there...howeverrr  I left my camera on (with the 'turn off automatically' button disabled) in my bag which rendered it useless haha!

Anyway today I have a little wish-list I've compiled but it's not mine - oh no! It's Prince's Xmas wishlist (or what I'd like to think he'd wish for as he's a kitty with good taste) which consists of items I've seen along my internet travels and think he would love:

Friendship Collar.
This is the BEST idea EVER! Basically your cat wears the collar and you wear the matching bracelet :') Bffs!
Cat Prince Throne.
HELLO this is a throne for a Prince...a cat called Prince needs this and only this royal treat to lounge on. Kitty Kit also have this Prince radiator bed too - so cute!
Cat Humpurr
A one-off or monthly subscription box - for your cat! This is such a cute idea, gifts for all the love they give you.
Cat Grass Garden
Prince loves to eat grass outside but now it's getting colder he prefers to snuggle up with us indoors. Bringing the outdoors to him - total diva!
Cat Mate Refrigerated Auto-Feeder.
If I spend one night away or am out all day/night I feel so sad like I need to go back and feed Prince so I usually leave loooads of biscuits in his bowl. With this you automatically set times for it to feed the cat and it keep meat cool!

I'm sure if Prince had a clue he would agree with me that these are great gifts!

So it's already the 1st December and I have opened my Yankee calendar and I think I am burning one called Angel Wings right now which is a subtle Vanilla scent. What calendar do you have?

Cat Tipi - DIY

Hello!

This Saturday my baby boy Prince turned 2! You can see my post from his 1st Birthday HERE where I tell the story of how I got him and his background. He's grown up alot since then but he is still a mummy's boy who comes for snuggles every morning.

I bought him a few new toys and a special cat-meal and some treats but for so long now I've wanted a Cat Tipi. On the site I've linking there they are pretty expensive for me to get shipped aswell as buying the product so I decided to build my own!

I used this awesome easy tutorial from Boat People Boutique to build my own Tipi for Prince:

uk diy blog

I used:

1 metre of fabric,
5 wooden sticks which were about 70 cm's,
Leather string,
1 safety pin
Feathers
and a cat pad that he likes to lay on for the base.

After cutting the fabric into a cape-shape (hey that rhymes) I had to tie 3 of the sticks like the above picture so that they stand upright like the below picture:

You then add two more sticks and tie them around the other sticks for them to stand like so:

I then draped the cut fabric around and safety pinned the fabric at the top where the two ends met.
I then tied the leftover leather around a couple feathers.

I then put the cat pad under the tipi so Prince now has his own little tent!

uk diy blog

Prince loves his Tipi, he sleeps under it at night however on the first morning I walked in to see he had wriggled about so much that it had fallen on top of him but I think he enjoyed it being like a giant blanket :P

Hope you had a great weekend, I did an amazing, personal challenge and climbed a mountain! I will do a post on it very soon as the experience was incredible and super spiritual!

Chunky Boots.

When I go out I CANNOT wear heels, I can't walk in them and they hurt like hell. I always opt for wearing boots out and the only fancy ones I have that I can spent the whole night in are my JuJu's and they are no good in the wind and rain!

I was recently asked if I wanted to try out some women's shoes from Heelberry, so I chose myself a pair of boots that I can wear on a night out and will actually last the whole night in:

I can actually feel myself getting a cold coming, I hope it just passes as a sniffle but so many people have had flu's and fevers recently I'm super scared I'm going to get ill, so I'm just trying to keep warm and keep my mind on other things.

What do you think of Heelberry? Hope you had a great weekend!

Rainbows, Daisies, Unicorns - Oh My!

Hello!
I hope you had a great weekend, I had a pretty relaxed one up in the Valleys keeping warm by the fire whilst the wind and rain pummeled South Wales.

The wonderful Punky Pins gang recently sent me some of their amazing handmade and personalised jewellery to waltz around in, and as a huge fan of them already I was SO pleased with their choices for me!

Prince the cat
Of course Prince had to ruin my picture.
Here you can see the most perfect little Daisy necklace. I've been wearing it with everything! It is so dainty and sweet.

I'm a sucker for anything with my initial on and since the death of my Scrabble ring I've been on the hunt for a new initial ring and this is the one.

Do you love them too?! What other Punky Pins items do you like?

Pre-Christmas Shopping for Prince the Cat.

Prince has been a super lucky boy this month and Pets at Home kindly gave him some spending money for their stores in celebration of their new Christmas Look-Book and their new DreamScanner App which allows you to see just exactly what your pet is dreaming of!

Seeing as I couldn't really take Princey down to the shop with me on his lead, I decided to pick him out some surprises on my own:

Pets at home christmas
Giant Scratch Post (hopefully to stop him clawing the sofas!), Christmas Scarf, Advent Calendar, New Bowl and matching Placemat, Play Toys and Treats!
Naughty head couldn't wait until the 1st of December and decided to open his advent calendar early!

When he finally calmed down I put his little scarf on him to keep warm before his afternoon nap.

Handsome kitty!

Will you be getting your pets any Christmas treats?

Getting Ready For...Spring?!

Autumn is a very important time to get prepared for Spring/Summer - no, not for fashion but gardening!

Planting bulbs in October-November is a great time for them to settle in and by the time Spring rolls around again they should start to grow and bloom.

Now I have a lovely garden full of places to plant some flowers (and possibly fruit and veg) I thought I had better get prepared! Although it's already thriving with amazing herbs, foliage and flowers I have two empty spots for more growing to happen! So with the help of The Urban Gardening Guide - I have done just that!

uk flowers
I picked up 3 different packs of bulbs for £1 each and using this huge bag of Miracle Gro Expand n' Gro (it feeds them for 6 months!!) and my marigolds - I got planting.
Of course Prince wanted to help too!

Pot 1. I planted all 3 of the different types of bulb in here but only a couple of each so they have enough room to survive.

Pot 2. This is clearly alot longer so I planted the rest in here. As you can see I have a loads of plants growing already!
(How cute is Prince looking at the birds?!)
Autumn is so beautiful I thought I would share some of my favorite parts of the garden at the moment:

Pink n' Purple Hair and Blue Tie-Dye Sweater - outfit post

I got bored with just having pink hair so added purple dip-dye on the bottom too. Although I'm kinda bored of having pink/purple hair it seems everybody has it these days - I'm thinking maybe a dirty blonde or go back to my old pearl blonde.
I'm also desperate for a hair-cut but I only have £4 to my name at the moment.

I got this blue tie-dye jumper from H&M last year. I love wearing a bodycon dress with a jumper over the top, it's basically all I wear come Winter!

Here it is - massively ripped tights an' all:

I love Prince so much! This weekend he bought home a dead crow and cut his foot - he is such a little trouble maker! Even though the picture is super out of focus (probably due to how smudgey my lens was) I just love any picture with him in :)

Hope you had a great weekend

Happy 1st Birthday Prince!

I got Prince in October last year, he was 8 weeks old and in a tiny pet shop down the road from me, owned by an old lady, sat in a teeny cage with 2 other kitties. The other two kittens were fast asleep but as soon as I walked in Prince jumped up, crawling all over the cage desperate to get out and as I put my hand in the cage he clambered up onto it and perched there crying his little head off.

Me and Ross decided we couldn't get a kitten, we had just moved into a new house (that doesn't allow pets) but as soon as we got back home and sat on the sofa we both looked at each other with sad faces and decided we just couldn't leave him alone there in that tiny metal cage!

We named him Prince after our favourite musician, we gave him a purple velvet collar with THE Prince symbol hanging from it and his sassy little nature definitely lives upto his name. Ross even bought him a replicate Prince guitar big enough for him to hold (see below for the ridiculous picture).

It was love, he knew I was his Mummy and still does, he is like my little shadow! Every morning his smudges his head all over mine to get me up, he sits on my lap for afternoon cuddles when I get home from work and sleeps on a bunch of blankets on my floor next to my side of the bed.

So here are pictures of my baby boy Prince on his 1st birthday. Starting at day one onto the latest pic of him:

Ain't he handsome?!

Sorry for the picture heavy post but I couldn't narrow down my faves!
Hope you have a great weekend!
