Bathroom Decoration Complete!

blue grey and terracotta bathroom

...well almost! I'm just waiting for my floor, I've missed the call from the fitters to arrange my vinyl to be fitted which will probably be next week now. I ended up going for a dark vinyl tile style floor

You may remember the post I did with Dulux Amazing Space on designing a bathroom for me. I loved the ideas that came out but I wanted to make the room alot darker as the ceilings are so high and this is a place where I want to spend hours in the bath relaxing with candles and feeling cozy so I took the colour ideas but went alot deeper with them.

My Mum and Cousin came down for a few days so I handed them a paint brush and roller and got them in on the action to start my first project in my house!

Here is a picture of it before: It was white, boring, felt cold and open...

And here it is now:

blue grey paint

Right away I have to say I took these photos in the night time when I was about the bathe so terrible quality incoming and I tried a few pics in the light (the first and last pics) so they show the colours a little better.

I went for a new range of paint by artist Lars Contzen called ColourCourage. The tins are beautiful, they are matt wit ha cute anchor print on and have a gorgeous old-skool style wooden handle. I went for a gorgeous blue-grey called 'Le Chat Gris' which means The Grey Cat and the colour is perfect! I picked mine up from B&Q who have the full range.
The other colour I went for was a terracotta by B&Q's own brand Colours in 'Tuscan Roof'.

After my mum and cousin left, the drill was put away from fitting new blinds etc my new mirror from Bathroom Takeaway arrived! This was my first test as a single woman living alone - putting up a mirror, with screws and drills, on my own!

The mirror came very well packaged and secure and it came with the attachments to hold it up, but it didn't come with any screws so I was totally lost as to what I was supposed to put it up with. Long story short after 4 unwanted holes drilled in my wall, many screws falling down the plughole in the sink and about an hour later - I finally got it up! Now it is hanging on by two screws and it looks a little wonky BUT I DID IT! I'm basically just going to wait until my step-dad came come up and re-fit it for me ha!

I love the mirror, I've always wanted a light-up mirror and I actually keep it on when I'm in the bath as the LED lights are soft enough to create a lovely cozy feeling. It is battery powered which is great and it fits in perfectly with my new bathroom!

I haven't changed much in the way of accessories, I got a new bath panel as the cats decided to pull my old one off to use under the bath as a hiding place. I also got this cutie cactus shower curtain from H&M Home and as you can see even Prince loves the new look!

I will try and take some better pictures once my floor is in and show you it totally complete but my mission was successful, I made the room smaller, darker and alot cosier!

What do ya think?

Amazing Space with Dulux.

Hello!
Today I am sharing with you my experience with Dulux's awesome new personalized home styling service - Amazing Space

It is super easy and quick to start up, you choose which room you want be inspired with, whether is just the wall colours or a whole new room revamp and away you go! I wanted to do over my bathroom I was given a choice of images showing what sort of vibe I was going for and exactly what I liked or disliked about each inspiration shown. I was also given words to describe how I want to room to make me feel and which colours I drawn too and my budget. Below is the summary for my bathroom which you can edit at any time:

Once I was happy with my summary it was sent off to find the perfect designer for my project who was going to do all the hard work for me! I booked in a half hour slot for my designer to video call me and show me what they had been working on and had come up with. I didn't really know what to expect but I was honestly blown away with how much effort and time my designer Bethany put into my project! She was so sweet and lovely and incredibly passionate and excited about my project which in turn made me excited to get started too!

Bethany had chosen wall colours and accessories to compliment some of the furniture I already own in my bathroom aswell as some new pieces which are suggestions if I wanted to revamp a bit more. We talked through every single part she had picked out and how I felt about it, if I liked it or if I wanted it taken out. I LOVED Bethany's choice of colour for my bathroom it was beautiful and so complimentary of how I wanted my bathroom to feel in general.

After usually 24 hours your designer will give you the finished summary and a full shopping list of how much and where you can click and purchase any of the items shown. Bethany actually send me mine a couple hours after our great conversation I'm guessing because she was super passionate about it which was incredible.

I was sent a floor plan, full paragraphed details of what the room can transform into my shopping list (very bad for my bank!) and an amazing recreation of my own bathroom how it will look if I follow the plan - it was so good I actually thought it was my bathroom until I noticed the window was a little different and had fake sky haha!

I love the colours, I love the floating shelves and I cannot wait to show you my bathroom progress which I've already started prepping for ;)

I highly recommend this service it is so helpful especially for the busy/lazy people like me who would never get a plan together ever!

The service was offered to me free of charge but is usually £75 and although to me that is quite expensive (I'd be more inclined if it was about £50) I do honestly think this is a service worth paying the money for as the experience with my designer left me buzzing and wanting to whip the paint out and get decorating. Also the hard work and attention to every detail that has gone into their work is wonderful and something I would never think of.

What do you think of my bathroom plan?

Bathroom Accessories Haul and Bath Time Routine.

blogger bath time

Guten Tag!

I gave my bathroom a little re-fresh this weekend, just a few little bits that need updating after a while like bathmat etc... which I will show you in a second.

I love having a bath, I love pampering myself a little and just relaxing with a good book. I'm currently reading the book shown above 'Where are they buried? How did they die?' it sounds morbid as hell but it's actually very interesting. It's about celebrity grave-sites and gives a brief run down of their life, career and death also giving great directions to where they are buried and where their plot is located in the specific cemetery.

I bought my bathroom accessories from Tiger, I've featured them before HERE when they send me over some stuff to try out and have been hooked on their shop ever since, It's so cheap and so unusual and gorgeous! As well as the things below, I also got the bath mat pictured above and a toiler brush in a metal casing in the same colour theme (but ain't nobody want to see a picture of that!).

pastel cat door hooks Tiger
Cat Shaped Hooks - £1 each.
The colours go with the theme I was going for and, well, they are cat shaped!
Our hooks on the back of the door were old and falling out when we moved in so I replaced them with these.
Bath Head Rest - £2
This was in the colour I was going for and ESSENTIAL to bath-time relaxation! This is so much better than my old one as it was the little head hole bit so you fit in perfectly.
Bathtime isn't bathtime without a LUSH bathbomb! This is the Golden Wonder bathbomb that I got in the after-Christmas sale. It smells divine, the water goes that beautiful turquoise colour after exploding with bubbles of pink, green and yellow leaving you with a gold shimmer too!
Lights off, candles on!
My new fave is this gorgeous Wild Bluebell from Jo Malone that I got for Xmas, it's true luxury.

Don't get me wrong, I love to party and see my friends but right now in my life I feel like I'm kinda done with doing it every weekend and I'm a little scared my friend and I may be heading in different directions as partying most weekends is their bag. See, I'm a homebody at heart and call me as boring as you like but staying in is what I love! I love a good walk about in nature during the day or doing some chores and then sitting in at night, reading, practicing my wall hanging with a cup of tea, Netflix and candles on - oh and of course my snuggly Prince by my side. I feel maybe I'm a bit of a cross-roads in life with where I am and where I am going/want to be but I do know feeling awful with a hangover every Sunday is not where I want to be!

Anyway, I  hope you are having a great weekend, I've had such an exciting day that I had to have a 4 hour nap in between :p Also got the M&S 2 dine for £10 using a gift card I got for Xmas too which was lush!
