Big News!

Hello, Hello!

As I've been hinting in my last few post I have some big news - I'm moving! As much a my flat can be nice, there are no perks to living in a basement and also there is just no room at all! So me and Prince our packing up our belongings and heading over to our very own house.
I've had a bit of negative critisism about the area I am moving to (Splott for those who know) about how rough of an area it is etc but the way I see it my house backs onto other back-gardens and the street is pretty quiet, plus it's not like I'm going to be sat out in the street EVER so personally I really don't see the big deal. A house in the area where I live now would be double for what I've got and I'm still super close to town and ammenties.

I think my date for moving is going to the 24th July which is such a lucky break for me as I got assigned holiday at work for 25th July for 10 days - Perfect!

I do have a few big anxieties about living alone:

1. I'm going to get lonley:
As much as I love my own company I know I will get bored at times. I actually only have a two-bedroom but maybe in the future I can find a lodger but I only really want somebody I know and can trust to not mess up my pad!

2. I'll never see my friends:
With moving out on my own I'm actually really scared my friends will all ditch me. I guess this is mostly on them and me to make an effort and for them to not forget about me! (Although I still live very close!).

3. Money:
Will I be able to afford rent (I'm renting from my mum who has bought the house - long story but we sold our old house in Devon and as spoilt as it makes me seem I am truly SO grateful that we in the position to do this!), bills and food, plus money to actually live?! Time will tell I suppose.

4. What if they're right?:
What if I do hate living in Splott? What if I get burgled? What if my neighbours are total arseholes? 'What if...' is such a stupid things anyway and I know I shouldn't let any anxieties get to me. What if...I really love it? ;)

I've already bought ALOT of major stuff and have alot coming to me from me and my mums old house we used to live in which is just sat in storage right now. Plus the previous owners are going to be leaving all white goods (I'm SO excited to own a dishwasher!) and also their shed which will be super helpful! There is also an attic room which with a little bit of tlc will be great storage.
The main thing I need is a bed, I HATE my bed I have right now, It's one of those low down, wooden framed IKEA beds that I bash into everytime I get in or out of bed. Plus my mattress is so knackered I can never get comfy!
I will also need to sort stuff like Xbox, curtains/blinds, internet etc but all in good time. I'm going to start off with essitials really cheap then move onto what I really want when I've got the money to spend.
As lame as it sounds I'm also super excited to get loads of new cleaning products, hand soaps etc just to start a fresh! Ok...that was super lame.

This is a huge deal for me as alot of people my age and older just float from house to house but I really can't wait to have something stable and steady to call my own for a long time with no worrying about bonds, landlord troubles and extortionate rent rates.

If anyone has any good advice or tips about moving out solo then pleaasssee get in contact as I really need all the support I can get right now!

How A Shaggy Rug Can Make A Room

shaggy rugs uk

Hello there!

Today I want to share with you my favourite thing EVER - my new rug! I mentioned this and showed it off in my 2014 roundup video but I wanted to share it on here aswell and use some better images to show its true beauty!

(wow I never thought I'd be 25 and be ecstatic over homeware instead of clothes and make-up...)

uk soft rug shag grey

My shaggy rug is from 'The Rug Retailer', they have literally the biggest collection of rugs I've ever witnessed so I took about 3 days deciding on the perfect rug. Recently my mum bought me a sheepskin rug, which is being kept for my *fingers crossed* eventual new house, but in the mean time I settled on the 'Whisper' rug in Tungsten

Aswell as having an astronomical range of different rugs, these rugs also come in loads of sizes too! I went for a wild guess and got a 4ftx6ft which actually fits perfectly on my living room floor and I think any smaller would have looked silly in this room.

When the rug arrived I was so excited, I rolled it right out and it was so, so soft I couldn't help starfish it with joy! It's really plush and furry but didn't leave any fluff on my clothes which is such a plus because now it's become my little spot. I sit there with a cup of tea, cosy lights on and work on my wall hanging on my softy rug - it's my little slice of heaven!

Even Prince has been getting in on the rug action, and like the faithful companion of mine that he is, settles down beside me in the softness :)

I really feel that a big rug makes a room so cosy and now I have my very own!

Prince's Garden Adventures.

With the recently blast of sunshine we have had here in the UK I've been taking Prince out in the garden, his favourite thing to do is catch flies and umm... tissues!

He runs about with them in his mouth and if you go near him to grab it he growls like a dog. It's crazy! So I thought I'd snap him in action with his favourite toy - old tissues (SO GROSS!).

When I bought him back in he literally climbed the windows to try and get back out:

Bless him the little weirdo!

To see more pictures of Prince and his garden adventures (including getting stuck up a tree!) then you can see them on my Instagram.

Do your pets do weird things?

Happy Kitty & Easter Nails

Happy Easter pals!

I'm off for a roast dinner with my boyfriends family and limiting myself to ONE chocolate egg :p

What a better way to welcome Spring and Easter with pretty pastels and baby pink carnations! I read that they are bad for kitties if they eat them so I kept him under watchful eye and made sure they are out of reach for him!

Hope you have a great weekend

Green Means Go - outfit post.

Tomorrow I am off to London for a few days with my beloved. Anyone have any recommendations of fun/cheap/free things to do? I have a few museums I'm going to check out, I haven't been to London for about 3 years so I'm super excited!

Here is my outfit from yesterday, it was such a sunny but windy day and now I've seen lots of people getting snow again - crazy weather!

Skater Dress - Topshop.
(I also have it in grey - see it HERE)
Prince is unimpressed by my squidging him.
These little dresses are my fave, I love wearing them out or in, fancy or not fancy - they work and they are so comfy!
For the life of me I cannot remember where or how I got this ring. It's from TattyBon!
But what is better than a glittery kitty?!

Also I'm selling some items on eBay - you can see them HERE  :)

Hope your week is going great!

January Favourites Roundup

Even though it's my Birthday month, a new year and time for new beginnings and resolutions, I always feel super blue in January. It's too cold, Spring seems super far away and there just isn't that much to do!

But instead of dwelling on it I thought I'd share with you some of the highlights of my month that have certainly brightened it up:

We won this super rad light-up constellations globe on eBay. It looks so pretty when you're in total darkness - the best night light!
Keeping with the space theme we also picked up this awesome galaxy print duvet set for £10. Bargain!
I found this little cat cutter in a bargain shop my pals like to call 'The Church of Junk'. It was £1 and stamp-cuts little cats into paper.
I got these records for my birthday which was on the 2nd. I am a huge Willie Nelson fan, old country music is my jam, it's so heartbreaking! Anyway I can't wait to add more to this little collection in the future.
I got this super cute Pastel Boyfriend Cardigan in the ASOS sale - it's so warm and cosy.
My favourite beauty product this month has been Taylor Swift's fragrance Wonderstruck. I've got 3 bottles and the lotion now, it's a really sweet but subtle and long lasting smell plus TaySwift is a mega babe! The bottle is gorgeous, it shimmers in the light and the 50ml comes with a cute charm attached.
The blizzard of 2013, see my post on it HERE but seeing my kitty Prince in the snow for the first time was definitely my highlight of Jan :)

What have your favourite things in January been?

I'm super looking forward to February, my goal is to bake more. Also Pancake Day is right around the corner so don't forget to enter my Pancake Day Party giveaway!

Meet Prince - WARNING: Kitten Picture-Heavy Post!

As I said in my last post after posting a picture of my kitty playing in the snow, I would do a little introduction to him.

In October one of my housemates and me were in a pet-shop and met this adorable little kitten who was climbing the cage and chirping like crazy for our attention. It was instant love! We took him home and it's been madness ever since.

We decided to name him Prince (after the one and only) as we are massive fans and bought him a very Prince-esque collar. It is purple velvet with a silver glitter stripe and hanging off it is the 'Prince' symbol (which I also got tattooed last year on my ankle after an impromptu night watching Purple Rain and drinking Rose wine).

Meet Prince!

The first day we got him aged 8 weeks:

Dress up:

Growing up fast:

Notice his Prince collar?

He is so full of character and has the most beautiful markings, I literally have no idea what breed (if any) he is a cross with but he chirps instead of meows, is super long and has a really long tail, he has a leopard print belly and also jumps higher and further than any cat I've ever seen!

Any cat experts out there have any hint as to what exactly Prince is?!
It takes alot of energy looking after this one but I adore him :)

Sorry for the kitty heavy post! Hope your week is going swell so far.

When The Snow Hits.

As it's very apparent, most of the UK was hit by blizzards this Friday, and South-Wales was put in the 'red zone' which mean't we were getting alot coming our way! My boyfriend's family live in the Valleys where we were visiting when the snow hit and it ended up being one of the worst hit areas.

I LOVE snow so this only meant adventure to me, off we went three separate times during the day for hours of snow fun:

My favourite thing to do was shake the branches and pour snow all over myself and watch as the branch shot back up into the air after being weighed down by the thick snow.
Worlds worst attempt at a snow man.
War Memorial.

When I finally managed to drive back to Cardiff I couldn't wait to see my little kitty Prince!

We got Prince in October and he is now 5 months old, I will be doing a little post on him next with kitten and now big kitty pictures :)

Prince with his lead on experiencing snow for the first time! He was super cold but didn't want to go indoors.
Were you hit by heavy snow where you live? I know it's a total nightmare but it's so pretty before everything turns to ice and gross slush.

I hope you are having a good weekend!
